Out of the Blue

With the end of August upon us, I broke out the clippers yesterday and tortured the Gunnar-man with a haircut. Our fantastic Poodle friend's coat grows in pretty quickly, so this is his second full shearing of the summer. He hates the process, but someone else grooming him takes hours, which I know he doesn't love, since he doesn't love my quick-and-dirty version either. He looks good, but not perfect, as I'm no pro groomer, but I did a better job than usual of avoiding spots where he's shaved down to the bare skin that would need to grow out. Maybe I'm getting better at this.

I loved HR, but I haven't pulled the trigger on MD yet. Is it worth $15.00?

YES GO NOW (even though I'm not very far through I had to restart the game like 4 times). It will be played soon to completion, but I'm currently seeing how many Blues'ers in my current X-COM game I can get killed (btw Creston I named another character for ya, and he still died first, right after Cutter).

On the other hand... even had I purchased it at $15, I would still be hard pressed to say I got value for my dollar

Don't get me wrong; the game isn't terrible. It's graphics are simply gorgeous, and the world is lavishly detailed. The minute-by-minute gameplay isn't bad either; it's basically the same as DX:HR with a few fairly inconsequential changes. But as I player I felt short-changed by the story and setting; it was sub-par to what we saw in earlier titles. It had its moments, but too much of this game - including its main plot - felt like busy-work and the drudgery of a common flatfoot. Compare this to the world-changing actions with which the earlier games engaged you, and DX:MD feels far inferior.

I suppose it depends on what you play the Deus Ex series for; if it's mostly for the gameplay, you'll probably be more than satisfied, if a bit upset that the game ends so early. On the other hand, if the world-building and exploration are more important to you, even $15 may seem excessive.

Yeah, I think so. I paid full price for it and don't feel cheated at all. I wouldn't rank it as high as HR but it was a solid entry in the series.

It's only an opinion of course but I would say that for most people that aren't hardcore fans of the series that if you can get it for $20 or less you can't really go wrong.

Cool, thanks much for the feedback.

Yeah about starting from scratch with Arma 3 control assignments.
Just dont.
Its fine until a task suddenly gets technical in the Campaign & the hints have no presets loaded & well it's a cluster fuck.
Went back & fashioned my prefered assignments from the Industry standard presets.
The sheer amount of options seems OTT even for a "simulator" but the game rewards with beautiful open world environments, atmosphere & complexity even I can work through.

Both Humble Bundles on right now are pretty good too.

Unfortunately the answer is too complicated and nuanced for a lot of people to understand, and people who have the capability to understand but who have conflicting agendas that prevent them from accepting it. Not saying it actually is complicated, but when something isn't completely black and white with a definitive cause and effect, it's just too much for some to wrap their heads around.

Cool Gunnar-man.

Cool benches.

What are the clowns crying about? It could be worse...they could be mimes. And The World Clown Association? Hahaha! Even the name makes you laugh. Everyone loves a clown, baby!

The problem with hurricanes isn't global warming it's where and how shit is built. You can build the right kind of housing and infrastructure so it won't have to be rebuilt everytime a natural disaster occurs. But those in charge love these bailouts and don't want them stopped because they all have their fingers in that particular pie to a greater or lesser degree. 10's of billions of dollars needlessly wasted because of the greed of a few.
