Re: 'Stargate' revival will launch a new MGM streaming service.

Must just be me, but going back to the time they dug up the gate in Egypt and basing a show on that seems dull. They didn't know what they had for decades. So we will be treated to show after show of the gate sitting there lifeless? Huh

Other than the silly opening scene, it looks like it could be pretty good and worth giving a try.

MGM streaming? Do us all a favor and let it die! We do not need another streaming service.

Someone didn't read the article again, sad.

Stargate is definitely one of my favorite sci-fi TV series (all the them, even early-canceled Universe), right up there with Firefly and Battlestar Galactica. I even re-watch all 17 seasons every couple of years.

I've been hoping they would start a new series at some point, but I'm nervous about this one. If it's a prequel, there can't really be much happening with the actual stargate, unless they throw out cannon. It's already been established in SG-1 that the original team that found the stargate only got it to work once, and then they more or less packed it up.

Curious to hear more details.

It seems it's just a 10-part, 10 minute each event series to get people to go to the site. It's about a young Catherine Langford on some sort of adventure.

Well that's disappointing. Thanks for the update.

No. They're a shady company, man. I bought some shoes off what I thought was Amazon and it turns out it was some 3rd party reseller marketplace bullshit from China. Doesn't state it anywhere, or shipping times, or refund policy or that it's not actually from Aamazon. So they didn't fit, went to return them and much to my surprise they tell me they're not responsible for any of this - when in fact they are. So they're telling me I have to ship the fucking shoes back to China, insured no less in order to get a refund.

What the fuck? That'd cost 3 time what the fucking shoes cost to begin with. As I explained this. Had they made it clear - as is their responsibility - I never would have bought the fucking things to begin with. So front line CS at Amazon is useless as I expected so I told them to escalate it to management, and if they don't fix the problem I'll b e disputing the charge with VISA and reporting them to the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, etc.

All this drama because Amazon doesn't make it clear that these are sellers aren't affiliated with them because they know people won't buy from them otherwise and they won't get their cut. So yeah, fuck Amazon.

Look for "Sold by: Amazon.com LLC" on the item in your cart. I'm pretty sure most third party items will also specify on the store page how fulfillment will happen.

I'm a little apprehensive about this story... Every Amazon product I've seen, even when Prime has said when you're still buying from a third party source. It will say sold by xxx, fulfilled by Amazon.

I am not a fan of another streaming service with limited title. I don't like that even Star Trek Discovery is going on CBS All access instead of netflix or hulu. I am already subbed to Netflix and Hulu and that is enough at the moment.

As far what they could with a StarGate prequel. In the show they say they never found the original Dial-Home-Device (DHD). They could base the show around having a team stumble on it and somehow got the gate working the show could be about an incident that caused them to destroy/hide it.

I don't buy a ton from Amazon but I've never had a problem like this before. That being said, once again, if I had known this was the case I never would have bought the fucking things, would I? Who the hell needs this sort of hassle over a pair of fucking shoes?
