Out of the Blue

It's time to buy QUAKE a cold one, as it's not only the game's birthday, but the first person shooter is now 21, so it's legal to drink or drive in any state. I always think I'll replay these older games on such occasions. Sometimes I succeed, and sometimes I fail, but I'll definitely play a little QUAKE today. I'll meet you at the slipgate.

you gotta use geomancy or geometry or some shit

see - you gotta account for the applied force from elliptical spheroid patterns derived by proportional relationships in certain specific ratios

this aint no 2d thing

Pretty sure you need geopolitics and geoengineering.

to be a sniper? thats an incredibly naive little perspective you got right there

better get your head and your ass wired together asap, son

You're right I forgot geocaching and geosynchronous orbits.
Do you have a single fact to back that up?

Holy shitballs that's an insane shot. 10 seconds to reach the target? Guy must have been sitting down or something. I love how they mention the US would have just dropped a bomb and killed all the civies in the area as well, lol, so true.

Before reading this my thought (jokingly) was he must have taken the curvature of the Earth into account. Then I read at that distance they do! Sneaky

not just the curvature of the earth, but the rotation of the earth as well! the planet rotates enough in the time and distance the bullet is fired to alter the shot by a few feet at those distances.

I understand gravity combined with the mass of the bullet and friction from the air all causing it to slow and inevitably go to ground but how does the curvature of the earth apply at such a short distance - short as compared to the circumference of the earth. I mean, there are "flat" stretches of land which you can see for miles on.

Ron Howard is stepping in to direct Han Solo movie. He's a great character director and his body of work is impressive. Willow, A Beautiful Mind, Frost/Nixon, Apollo 13, Gung Ho, and Cocoon. Great news! Thumbsup

That Canadian sniper thing wastes the previous record by so much.

Plus it was a .50 BMG round so the ISIS douchebags were just hanging around and then one of them exploded. Depending on the terrain, at 3.5km, they might not even have heard much of a rifle report afterwards.
