Out of the Blue

Our bathroom renovation is moving along, as the space is now more or less completely gutted. If you watch home improvement shows they give the impression that all a demolition job requires is a sledgehammer and a willingness to use it for a couple of hours, but this took four or five guys most of two days to accomplish. It seemed like they had most of it done after one day, but there was a 10-some inch concrete subfloor that needed lots more time to remove. We theoretically could have built a new floor on top of it, but it seemed negligent to forego checking the pipes underneath it, since its now been almost 90 years since they were inspected. We could have played dumb and just passed this risk along to our eventual buyer, but that seemed pretty cheesy, so we're doing it right.

NMS: 558 players on average over the past month, per Steam stats. Sad for a game that peaked at 212321.

Guess I was one of those 558. Hadn't played in a while, but decided it was time to leave Euclid, so last week I jumped to the center and emerged in the Hilbert Dimension. But that about does it for me unless they release more content. Still seems odd Hello Games thought the payoff for reaching the big goal of getting to the center should be restarting in an identical system with a new name. Idea

Was checking this out when it showed up on the ol' Google News feed, was excited by the possibilities..

PS4 news: PlayStation Plus BOOST, PS3 Sony update, No Man's Sky reveal

...about No Mans Sky. I've actually been putting some time into it lately, with the Pathfinder update, it's been a nice, chill experience. Exactly what it was supposed to be, though sadly not marketed as. Anyway, we haven't heard a word from them since the update so when I saw the article title, I was like, 'Oh, cool! Another expansion update?'. Yeah, no. It says NOTHING! It basically says that some dope tweeted them asking if they were still working on NMS and they said 'Yes!'. THAT'S IT! That's the whole article! -The fuck?! Is the gaming world that boring?!

Hey Blue, when you actually got to see those 90 year old pipes, how did they look? and what were they made of?

Hollowed out tubes of granite. That's all they had back then.

As for doing the right thing, who knew that a guy that hasn't missed an update in 15 years would do the right thing.

Love reading remodeling jobs when the person doing the work or having the work done is making sure it's done right. Big time kudos there!!

Good luck. If you run into problems with your exit pipes that's gonna' get real expensive real fast.

Blue, if you'd have invited me over after a night of nuclear hot wings and tequila shots I would have have destroyed your bathroom for free.
The objective here is to leave the house habitable, not be declared a Superfund site.
