Out of the Blue

I was not expecting the Wonder Woman movie to get positive reviews, much less raves, but DC's new superhero flick seems to be killing it, and it's currently sitting at 79 on Metacritic, 12 points higher than Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. After a surprisingly successful trip to the theater for Guardians, this has me considering pushing my luck and going out to see this one as well. Hard to believe they're getting better results than from Batman and Superman. Sometimes the movie business makes you wonder.

No, simply because of the idiotic title. If you can't use Judge as a title for legal reasons than find something else, but an actual word that's easy to pronounce and remember. If they can't even get a lesson from marketing 101 right it doesn't bode well for the game.

Eh?
It's Cutterlogic. When it's on, it's spot on. When it's off, it's incomprehensible.

I actually liked Prometheus way better since all I wanted to see was a Space Jockey and more mysteries and that's what I got out of it.

This is what I don't understand. They left with wanting to go to the Founders homeworld. Wtf happened to that? Now that could have been interesting.

I am hoping the director's cut on Blu-Ray may add something more as it did with Prometheus. I agree that this movie should have dealt more with the Engineer's homeworld called "Paradise". What we saw in this film didn't appear to me to be that. The inhabitants of this planet only looked "engineer-like". There was speculation of two factions of the Engineers - the Creators, and the Destroyers. Ridley seemed focused on evolving the proto-xenomorphs into the Alien xenomorph. I don't really care much about that. And I really didn't need to see more face huggers, chest busters, or back busters. And the whole "I'm in charge but nobody respects me" angst of the schlub in charge was tedious.

whole movie was tedious. they asked a whole boatload of questions in brometheus, scott and that fuck lindeloff assuring everyone they'd get answered. then here comes covenant and they just blow off everyone and say 'more chest bursters! more gore! give us your money!' fuck that, i'm not theatering the next part.

Well, this can be chalked up to Action and Reaction. All things have consequences and the U.S. gave Noriega power during that period of illegal Dirty Wars. Thanks C.I.A.

Really a lot of movies I'd like to see out right now. The only one I saw saw so far is Alien: Covenant, which I thought was "OK" - I'd give it a C+ or B-. Definitely watchable, just not a fan of where they are going with the Retcon Origin story in this second installment. I actually liked Prometheus way better since all I wanted to see was a Space Jockey and more mysteries and that's what I got out of it.

This is what I don't understand. They left with wanting to go to the Founders homeworld. Wtf happened to that? Now that could have been interesting. It was the same with Riddick. I really wanted to see what the fuck the Underverse was.

Probably too much meddling by Fox and Ridley Scott himself not sticking to one thing or being confused by the reactions to the previous film.

After the awesomeness that was GotG Vol. 1, I thought GotG Vol.2 was very (very) "Meh".

Will definitely give Wonder Woman a try at the big screen, the theaters these days have the reclining chairs and reserved seating, much less stressful than the "old" days.

As an update to my complaints about how CSGO monetizes (again, really enjoying the game otherwise, so I'm not saying this makes the game bad), I received 2 drops in my first 6 hours (one a weapon skin, the other a box I needed to pay $3 to buy a key to open and get another weapon skin), but I've received no drops since. That's about another 15 or 16 hours of no drops at all.

The only game I can really recall playing with random skin drops like this was the Quake Champions beta, and while it was a beta, I was getting 2 or 3 skins every hour or two. Frequently duplicates, but the skinner box was constantly being pressed. With CSGO, I feel like drops happen for me so infrequently that why even care? Which is probably what Valve wants, to get me to just buy what I want, but I'd be more likely to if I were getting skins I didn't like (though I could sell those for ones I did, perhaps putting less money into their economy.) Instead, drops are so infrequent that I'm entirely demotivated about weapon skins at all. No weapon feels like "my" weapon because I haven't earned anything I use with any regularity, so why care at all?

Give it a week or two Blue. Not saying that the movie is crap, but the initial scores for new releases are always pretty high. Batman v Superman was over 85% initially if I remember correctly. Though I have to say I really did like that movie. I don't know why it got such bad ratings. (I only watched the extended director's cut version though).

Wonder Woman could really be better than the other DC movies from the last few years. Zack Snyder had not as much to do with it as he had with the other DC movie universe movies, so at least one can hope that WW is decent.

I will go out on a limb however and say that you can safely skip Wonder Woman Part Deux.
