Out of the Blue

I had an encounter the other day that completely delighted the dog lover in me. I got to meet someone's pair of rescue greyhounds. Saving a retired racing dog is something that appeals to us, but MrsBlue's allergies would prevent us from following through on that. These dogs were so sweet, and it was a lot of fun getting to know them. The other thing was that this was in a very small apartment, which did not seem to bother these large dogs a bit. That is how the breed is described, apparently in spite of their speed and athleticism, greyhounds are quite content to be couch potatoes given the opportunity, much like most of us.

Hats off to you Blue. There are so many animals looking for homes where I live that they are looking at making it illegal to breed more until all of current ones have been rescued.

The funny thing for me about Trump raising the possibility of there being a tape of his conversation with Comey is this --

When I first learned about the dinner and the different versions of what was supposedly said by both parties... the first thing I thought was, "too bad Comey isn't a paranoid nut too, he might have recorded the conversation and we'd have proof (possibly not legally collected) of Comey's version."

Then Trump came out this his follow-up statement. Freaking hilarious to me.

Did you know Trump invented the term "Bueller, Bueller, Bueller?" He thought it up a few days ago. It's really unfair that you use the term without giving him credit. Sad!

Haha, I got a little sense of that from the pair I met. One of them was telling his owner he needed food by shooting him this royal "you are not doing your job satisfactorily" look.

Love the picture of your dog, sorry for your loss.

President Pence will hopefully be very different from that coke sniffing nutcase in the White House.
If you take the time to look at Pence's political history you would realize you'd probably rather have the "coke sniffing nutcase in the White House." Pence is doubly worse because he is just as crazy but is a practiced politician. He might actually get some of his insane legislation ideas passed...

With Pence as Prez, we'd be quite a bit further down the road to an actual Handmaid's Tale.

Greyhounds are awesome, I have rescued two of them. They can be OK for people with allergies due to their short fur and very little dander, consider fostering one to see if it fits in and that the Mrs. allergies aren't affected. Then we're just stuck with the idiot who completely contradicted his own explanation on James Comey's firing*, spoke gibberish about aircraft carriers to Time magazine and told the Economist he invented the use of "priming the pump" with regard to the economy.

*The old story that Trump was reacting to a recommendation from the Department of Justice; the new story is that he was always going to fire Comey.

Yeah I have been skeptical of people's claims of fascism in the new administration, but it's bullshit like this that makes me think they might be right.
