Diablo III Necromancer Q&A Wednesday

Diablo III players with questions about upcoming changes in the action/RPG sequel will get some answers on Wednesday in a livestream Q&A with Blizzard. The focus will be the Necromancer, a class Blizzard is resurrecting from Diablo II. They don't actually say where this will take place, but that's a detail. Here's the big picture:
We have another Q&A Livestream coming up, and you’re invited! Join Senior Game Designer Travis Day and Lead VFX Artist Julian Love on Wednesday, May 3 to learn more about the Necromancer and the development process around this upcoming class.

Got a question for us? Submit any Diablo question by posting in this forum thread or via Twitter  using the hashtag #D3QA.

We’re hoping to answer as many questions as we can and can’t wait to see you Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. PDT. See you there!

If you kill an important or loved character you should stand behind it and keep them dead.

I would agree, but I never got over how badly Leah got screwed over in D3. By her own mom for chrissake. I'd like to see her make a comeback. Somehow.

$15 for a new class? Holy crap, instead just go buy Grim Dawn or something that isn't trying to be the Apple® of games.

Yep with an in-game cutscene too. Such a shame. Should of at least had a CGI death.

Isn't the Necromancer the perfect chance to fix this? I vote for a resurrection.

If you kill an important or loved character you should stand behind it and keep them dead.

Bringing them back is a copout and renders any future deaths or threats of death far less meaningful.

It's like watching a TV show where some character is in a dangerous situation but you have absolutely zero excitement or concern about them dying because you know how this crap works. They either get away or are magic/techno-healed, or etc.

Virtually every character, even the insignificant, should have those who want to bring them back, so why don't they. If Character X can be brought back from the dead why not Character Y, what mumbojumbo excuses would have to be created. It's begging to make things convoluted and shoddy.

I know this is just Diablo we're talking about here and it's about as "serious" as anime, still they should stand by their decisions and at least try not to make it cheap/er by removing even the threat of death itself.

Hell they should be two chapters ahead. "We kill beloved Character X because THIS then happens and it THEN leads to THAT." all that should be solved if not released.

Unless of course they're the kind that "We kill beloved Character X because he is a beloved character and we are awesome edgy writers/designers and they won't see this coming". If that's the case expect the dead guy to be back in the next season with "mystery" behind it, lol.

I'm going to assume the Necro will cost $15 if only to make it easier for folks who convert their wowtokens for Blizzard Bucks.

$15 too much, mind you.

I replayed both not that long ago (Belzebub for number 1 anyway) and they both rock. Lots of fun and atmosphere.

Only things that suck is Diablo 2 can be a bit tricky to get running the way you want with the mod/s you want and when things eventually get multiple magic immunities which is F$@&ing moronic. Also crafting, completely sucks since Path of Exile exists though I'll say that about any and every hack and slash game that exists.

Just because people praise or harp an old game over a new one doesn't mean it's simply nostalgia or rose tinted memory. There's usually a good reason for it.

Say what you want I would like to see a complete remake of Diablo 1 and also Diablo 2 in the Diablo 3 engine. I still remember "Stay a while and listen" and this wonderful music in the background... Great gaming memory.

If you want to play Diablo 1 without the hassle and so on, instead just give Diablo Belzebub a go.

Had loads of fun with it and well worth it if you want some Diablo 1 action.

It also has some new features, like that merchant from Diablo 2, crafting, gear, stash/storage, stuff that didn't make it into the game. There's some documentation here for it.

I'd suggest going with a magic character first as they aren't as gear dependent and they may find some nice stuff for a future character.

Oh, and if you do get into it, it's worthwhile to have a character dedicated to crafting, so give all recipes and material to him. Much easier if it's all on one "crafting" person and I'd suggest making them a mage for telekinesis (to access the stash from a distance, yes I'm that lazy lol).

Ohhh, and change the walk speed in town, so you can zip around quickly, silly Witch is so far away.

Yawn.

Just f*cking release the character. I can't believe they're hyping this for as long as they are.

Blizzard moves in geological time scales.

I'm in the closed beta and honestly I don't think it's ready. I agree they're taking a long time though. I wouldn't be surprised if there's barely anyone working on D3 at this point since it is taking so long. Really would hope they'd have it ready sooner or get more classes ready in this amount of time.
