Out of the Blue

Well, I'm happy to have avoided turning this into a late update. I was playing online with the boys last night and I one more gamed myself into a super-late bedtime. It's just tough to quit sometimes when you're on a really hot winning streak. I'm guessing I'll pay the price at some point, but I managed to get going this morning on a ridiculously small amount of sleep. Time to fire up some more coffee.

Of course not. There were 78 cases in 2016 of white people being brutalized by airport police when they refused to disembark on command: broken noses, broken fingers, 2nd degree carpet burns, black eyes, etc. Did you read about any of them? Of course not. Because the Liebral media didn't deem them newsworthy. Try to Google these stories. Nothing comes up, right? That's because there's a media conspiracy to suppress these stories. The only reason I know of them is because my uncle is a higher up in the TSA where they track these stats, although they can't make them public. For security reasons.
Far more likely is there isn't video of the other "78 cases in 2016". And for the record, no matter what the subject, when someone says "XYZ happened, but you can't find out about it" always raises severe doubt. I have no doubt there have been multiple forced disembarks by multiple carriers. What made this news was not the passenger's race, but the video and the excessive nature of force used.

White people were involved in the scorpion sting story going on right now, the leggings incident, and the United Breaks Guitars thing several years ago.

But yeah, you have to be drinking pretty heavily from the right wing woe-to-be-a-white-male well to believe that a white guy being dragged bleeding off a plane by the police wouldn't have gone equally viral and caught the media's attention. Just totally disconnected from reality.

HAH, these were all great. I wish I could say it stood for Low Earth Orbit and that I was hanging out in my ship circling the earth while I study you humans. Yes, I am an alien.... Who visits Blues News on a daily basis since 2000 =)

Serious note, it means law enforcement officer. Been at it for 10 years and have 20 more to go. I know it’s not the most popular job these days in the news. I like to think I'm one of the good ones.

Side note, you wouldn’t believe how hard it is to find a PC gamer in law enforcement. I'm surrounded by console gamers and people who honestly didn’t know other games existed beyond the COD / Battlefield franchise. I mention games we all grew up on such as C&C, MechWarrior, Warcraft, Myth The Fallen Lords (personal favorite) and they all stare at me blankly, saying "did they come out on the original Xbox??".
SIGH
I never wanted to do this job in the first place! I... I wanted to be... A LUMBERJACK! Leaping from tree to tree! As they float down the mighty rivers of British Columbia! With my best girl by my side! The Larch! The Pine! The Giant Redwood tree! The Seq

Don't worry, I'm sure United's lawyers will have no trouble finding people for the jury that think it was all the victim's fault.

Well he WAS flying while Asian, so I'm sure the good doctor is to blame.

Common carrier laws allow them to refuse or change pre-boarding, but he was already boarded. I wonder how badly United will lose this.

On the other hand, if it makes it to the SCOTUS, Dao is DOA. Goresuck Gorsuch is on the team now, and he's found for the corporation over the individual in every-single-case he's heard.

If the United CEO truly takes responsibility, then he'll settle for a cool mil. That's a hell of a lot more than if they'd offered $2000 instead of the paltry $800 to convince four passengers to take a later flight.

Also, can we make it illegal to overbook a flight? That's fraud, pure and simple.

I've been working on a special project at work, so the comm team at my company wanted to interview me on video and use it internally as a kind of promotional video. So I go there expecting full professionalism: studio, makeup, pro rig, etc. NOPE. Some unused office, iPhone on mini tripod, and just shooting me as I am. Luckily, I checked in the mirror before I showed up, so I didn't look terrible, but I was thinking, WTF??

Hi Blue,

Just wanted to say thanks for all that you do. Been dropping by this site almost everyday for about 17 years. I was 15 when I stumbled across this site in 2000. This place has been my homepage ever since.

Thank you for your hard work, dedication, and perseverance in getting us the news and info we all love to read.

Had a long rough night at work last night (LEO) and realized we (and I most importantly) don't say thank you enough to people who effect our lives.

So, thanks again Blue for giving us / I a great place to come all these years. Thank Mrs. Blue as well! Can't forget the wife and all her hard work / support!

Well said, but I gotta admit I'm mighty curious where you work. Because the only acronym of LEO that I know is Low Earth Orbit.

The reviews of the EE are really good. Things they added like Tabbing to show interactable items, and auto-looting, will really help the gameplay.

I bought the original on CD when it was released, and also have the GOG version, which have it installed with all the mods, but I might have to get this version as well.
