Battlefield 1: They Shall Not Pass Released

Origin now offers They Shall Not Pass, the first DLC pack for Battlefield 1, the World War I shooter. Here's word on what this offers:
New mode: Frontlines
Force your way through the enemy line and claw back precious territory in the newest game mode for Battlefield 1. Both teams battle over a series of control points to capture the enemy’s HQ, then dive into frantic Rush-style combat to destroy or defend critical telegraph posts.

4 brand new maps
The hardened veterans of the French army make a stand in a brutal defense of their homeland. Fight through blazing forest fires, brave close-quarters combat, and engage in full-on tank warfare as you try to capture precious territory, or save your home from invaders.

New Behemoth: the Char 2C
Based on the real-world French tank, this super-heavy beast remains one of the biggest and most heavily-armored tanks ever made. When the enemy has your back to the wall, the Char 2C is just what you need to turn the tide of battle and win the day.

Thrilling new features
The battlefield gets even bigger with a new army, new vehicles and more. Discover a whole new set of tools to dominate the enemy team.

BF1 is clearly not a simulation, and only has the most tentative connections to history in the gameplay.

If you want a more sim-style WW1 game, try Verdun; it's not bad, I hear. I got it in a bundle sale awhile back, I've been meaning to try it.

Nothing beats BF1 though for just dropping in for a few rounds of Conquest Large though, in my opinion.

Wait.. I thought maps were supposed to be free for all? Or is this another, far superior MP game I am thinking about right now? With this they are splintering their laughable community AGAIN?

Ps.: Char 2C is a WW2 tank.... and the french tank they added the St Chamond, was one of the greatest failures ever produced, top speed 1 km/h and unable to cross ANY dug-out or ditches, or craters, or battlefield flat out. Of the 16 build and used in combat all 16 were lost before ever reaching a trench. If they modeled the tracks correctly this is gonna be one of the most broken tanks in the game.

Of the 400 built none were used in combat after that first test ;p

PPs.: They might as well call this a fantasy game at this point

I assume the Char 2C is 'what if' it was used. They were only used during WW2, and only 6 were operational during the Battle of France. All 6 were destroyed. Hinting at a future WW2 follow-up game? But eh, whatever it's a game. Too bad BF1 isn't moddable though, I'd love to see what the Forgotten Hope people could do with something like this for a more 'historical' approach.

This is easily the most beautiful rendering of a horrific war I've ever seen. Even the rubble is gorgeous.

The new weapon unlocks (vaguely BF4ish style) are a step in the right direction, but the requirements seem a bit off. I don't seem to be earning any more War Bonds though when I level up, so I assume they won't be adding any War Bond unlocks in the future? I have everything that was available via warbond unlocked currently.
