Out of the Blue

It is quite windy around here at the moment, you can hear it battering things and occasionally rattling the windows. The forecast says winds are currently around 45 mph and there are gusts up to 55 mph, and there is a high wind warning that extends for more than the next 24 hours. The timing of this is not ideal, as we have a dumpster full of garbage and debris sitting out front right now, which has the potential to strew garbage all over. The good news is that most of the junk in there is too heavy to become airborne, but in looking out there, I cant help thinking some of the lighter stuff may already be out there exploring the world.

It was stormin' like Norman here last night. Goddamn blue boxes blew over so I had to go out and run down the street picking everything up as it was all scattered across the lawns of my neighbors three houses down. Yeah, that had me cursing under my breath like Yosemite Sam.

He actually said that he would resign. The ugly part is that even the Republicans are starting to distance themselves from him which means...Yeah, he is about to be fuuuuuuuucked.

Heh, it's kinda like the scene in 'The Godfather' at the end when Michael slowly closes the door to his office as his wife looks longingly towards the closing door. It REALLY just means one thing: impending doom...

My bet -- neither, he will continue in office. Forget what you know, this is the "New World Order". And no, I'm not trying to be ominous, just acknowledging we are in never seen before territory.

I think it will probably go nowhere. Party Republicans have distanced themselves from several things that Trump and his apparatus has spit out, but their official action has been to shrug and move on. Unless you see Ryan or someone else high up actually saying that they should remove Sessions, not just recuse himself, I don't think anything's going to happen.

Articles about Sessions suggest that his actions don't amount to perjury, that he left himself enough weasel room, even if it looks wildly absurd for the nation's attorney general.

And I don't think Sessions has said he'll resign. He said he'd recuse himself from any investigation of himself. That's not a position that requires extraordinary courage or integrity.

Like this line from Gladiator.

"Ultimately, we're all dead men. Sadly, we cannot choose how but, what we can decide is how we meet that end, in order that we are remembered, as men."

Bible stuff below, hidden for those who are apathetic to such things.

That line very much reminds me of Ecclesiastes 7:1, "A name is better than good oil, and the day of death than the day of one's being born." Someone may ask why the day of one's death would be better than the day of one's birth? Because at birth a person has no established reputation. Their personal slate is blank, and their life course will result in either a positive or a negative reputation. For those who have established a good name over the years, the day of death is indeed better in that respect than the day of birth.

Another line: "Brothers, what we do in life... echoes in eternity."

This is the same case with Jehovah. Having a good name with Him "in life" based on "what we do" results in "echoes in eternity" at death in remembering our deeds. Fascinating! Refreshing to find metaphor similarities between scripture and film. Thought you might find the comparison interesting.

you know what the bible says about that?

And Saul said, Thus shall ye say to David, The king desireth not any dowry, but an hundred foreskins of the Philistines, to be avenged of the king's enemies. But Saul thought to make David fall by the hand of the Philistines. And when his servants told David these words, it pleased David well to be the king's son in law: and the days were not expired. Wherefore David arose and went, he and his men, and slew of the Philistines two hundred men; and David brought their foreskins, and they gave them in full tale to the king, that he might be the king's son in law.

NOTE: This kind of posting has, for some reason, gotten complaints recently so if you don't want to read it, *points straight ahead* there's the door...

Ok, I'm having a very odd...dilemma? Something I don't think I've encountered before, at least not recently enough to remember. See, I have Dying Light EE and it's expansion installed. I've finished both, loved both except for the STUPID GOD-AWFUL FUCKING ENDING to the expansion. (Seriously, little advice, play to the last mission of the explansion (it'll warn you) and then quit and consider it finished. Then watch the ending on Youtube. It's really not worth the bullshit to get there!) The ending to the original game was ok, ending on somewhat of a sequel-baity note. But the ending on the expansion just...geezus.

Anyway, I have a few side quests, minor ones, that I hadn't finished in the game that you can go back to and you do have the option of starting a new game with your skills and weapons already. But I don't know if I'm totally ready to jump into that campaign again, so soon after finishing it. And the game is taking up nearly 25 gigs on the ol' hard drive, which isn't a lot, especially out of 2 terabytes, but I have other games I want to install and I could use the space (I have about 30gigs free currently on that 2tb and about the same amount on my other 2tb drive (they're identical Western Digital Caviar drives if you must know).

My problem is that I just can not bring myself to uninstall the game. I just can't do it. I've tried several times and I talk myself out of it every single time. I'm curious if any of you have ever had the same issue, maybe where you kept a game installed and never really went back to it but couldn't get rid of it either?

(Yes, not an earth-shattering technical question, I'm just really curious about others' experiences)

Not sure if your question is of a technical nature, sounds more emotional to me.

I've certainly kept games around for literally years telling myself, "I'll get back to it.." but once I know I'm done with a game, I've never had an issue with uninstalling it..

Well, that's part of it, certainly. I still have *some* quests open and there's always the 'New Game++' mode as I stated before. So there's always something to go back to should I have the itch but then, do I just reinstall if I get that itch or just keep it there?
