I'm sure everyone is getting seriously hyped by now. I'm hoping that now that they've shown combat, the skills system (which is seriously awesome btw), etc their future pre-release videos can be a bit more about the RPG mechanics in the game.
I think a lot of folks would agree that ME1 was the best in the trilogy in terms of story and RPG mechanics. The combat had its problems with out a doubt but there were so many details that were lost in the two games that followed. From the weapon customization system that let you fine tune your party's loadout, to planet exploration, to your choices making a major difference in the game. It was the best written of the series to boot.
The skills system looks fantastic, though I really hope they limit how many skill 'lines' you can take to max. There are what; 30 skill lines? Give enough points to max out 10 at the most. That's enough to allow a tun of customizing and fine-tuning while leaving plenty of room for replayability. In ME2 & 3 you could get everything in your class by the end, since ME:A doesn't have classes, I really hope it isn't set up so you can get every single skill available by the end, cause it'd severely hamper replayability. Also what's with this 3 active skills at a time crap? Hello, a great many people will be playing this on PC, we don't need to be limited to 8 buttons.
Last, lets start to see those more RPG style elements, gear crafting and customization. Choices actually mattering beyond 'how long space battle cutscene is' and while I know they said in this one there will not be a space battle... this is a space opera for fuck sake, can we please get a space battle that is something besides a 2 minute cutscene?!?!
