Yeah that's not the case, but it's okay. He's pissed off at the absolute bullshit that's going on. The WSJ took shit out of context, went quote mining, claimed a bunch of other bullshit. But remember under their own rules(because "4 people said something that would be 'extremist'"), the Wall Street Journal is no longer the true name. It's the White Supremacist Journal.

This entire pile of bullshit though? Exactly the same stuff that caused gamergate to happen in the first place. You don't win by pulling dishonest journalism. You won't succeed if you engage in identity politics either which has infested the political left in the west like a cancer. You'd think the media would learn, but nope. They just succeeded in turning people away from the existing press to well anyone else. Made sure that all hit gen-z followers gave a big ol'fuck you to them as well. And it hasn't hurt his viewership at all, it's actually increased it...by a significant amount.

This is why people don't trust the press. It's the reason why people cheered Trump when he called the media fake news. It's the same reason why people cheered when he called them out on their bullshit ~2 days ago, and the media's response was to double down, go stupid, and continue to believe they're beyond reproach. It's why when people see stupidity like this going on they say fuck you to reporters.

Quoted for prosperity.

So yes, a few dozen outlets reporting on a controversy involving someone with 50 million subscribers does seem suspicious to you. The media certainly has problems but your dislike of people disagreeing with you is not one of them.

Oh, do please elaborate, since you've already made the accusation that you totally don't make. Is this because I criticise harass GamerGate by pointing out its flaws, which is basically like religious discrimination?

Do you think Milo Yianwhatever is getting a hard time too?

Or are you saying that manufacturing news for the sake of manufacturing it, isn't fake news?

The abundance of fake or sensationalistic news on the internet doesn't mean that all reported news is fake or "manufactured". An intelligent person can discern the difference between hype and reality and does things like actually check sources to verify stories. Trump "hears things" and repeats it without ever checking and then blames the source. He literally gets all of his news "from the media" and then complains that the media is all fake and lying... except that one channel he loves? Except the stories he believes?

Are the leaks real, or is the news fake? It can't be both.

No one is "targeting" him. He is putting giant targets on his own back by not answering direct questions and lying his ass off about stupid, trivial and easily disprovable things. They are reporting things he is actually saying, verifying things he is putting forth as facts and not taking his bullshit and he can't do anything but whine about it and call them "the enemy".

If a leader calling his nation's free press "the enemy" doesn't raise huge red flags for you, then you need a fucking history lesson.

The media reports things you don't like, get used to it. Prove that stories they are putting forth are fake by providing evidence that they are fake not just by whining that it's "all fake news". Trump has never provided any evidence or an actual source for any claim he has made against basically anything or anyone. Yet he has convinced you that "the media" who almost always provides sources and backs up their claims is the one lying to you. How gullible do you have to be fall for this shit?

I know you're not the you are most intelligent poster here, but c'mon, buddy. You know how this works. You need to give examples.

I'm still convinced you have not read the article. I'm borderline convinced you never read anything that leaves you so angry and offended.

The article is out there. Cite specific parts you feel were bad or shut up.

Meanwhile, in the real world, context doesn't matter unless he was quoting someone else, for the point the article was making. Which said "pdp has made anrisemitic jokes and used nazi imagery." factually accurate. The video they posted even included his explanation. And no, pdp does need them as a medium to reach who they do. Pdps audience is primarily tweens. The WSJ is primarily businesspeople. They do not watch PDP, but they do OK decisions to pay him hundreds of thousands of dollars to endorse their products, which, remember, he hasn't always disclosed. Uh oh, ethics!

Really? They didn't take anything out of context. So you're saying that his brand of humor wasn't taken out of context, when the WSJ decided to turn around and go running off to Disney and cry antisemitism?

You don't seem to get it, he doesn't have to use them as a medium. He refused to comment *though* them because he doesn't have to. Compared to his reach? They're nothing. His daily viewership is larger then their entire daily circulation numbers. And they're among the largest newspapers in the US.

Oh, they didn't. They just implied it...repeatedly, and made the association...repeatedly. And so did the rest of the media. Including the dozen plus articles that have been launched in the last few days. Time to realize something there Beamer. This is what a media hit piece looks like, and you're defending among the shittiest forms of journalism around.

descender wrote on Feb 18, 2017, 13:26:
Someone really just linked to a fake WSJ "fan site" run by The Daily Stormer, an admitted pro-Nazi and white supremacist news organization ... to convince us that the WSJ are the ones supporting white supremacists?? What a great place to get unbiased information about the WSJ! Rolleyes Looking over that website you must be quite OK with consuming fake news with no sources.

Oh look, someone who doesn't get the point...just like Beamer. They made the claim that since some of his supporters had racist views, he was a racist. In other words, they tried to play the "guilt by association card" which backfired. So, the daily stormer decided to play the same game. That means the WSJ is nothing but a racist organization now. You get it yet?

You don't get to arbitrarily decide that journalism is fake or dishonest just because you don't agree with what it says. You are welcome to provide sources that disprove fake stories, but this new habit of just pointing at things you don't agree with and bleating "fake" like a sheep isn't impressing anyone.

There is no "pile of bullshit" here that he didn't create himself. Are you denying that he actually did or said the things he did? He isn't. He did make antisemitic jokes, he does repeatedly show nazi imagery on his channel, he purposely does and says outlandish things to get a rise out of people and now suddenly someone calling him out on doing those things is "wrong"?? He is just whining that acting like an idiot child finally cost him money... as it should have.

The media decided to make themselves fake, when they decided to start manufacturing outrage for clicks. Or are you saying that manufacturing news for the sake of manufacturing it, isn't fake news? Haven't been paying attention for the last couple of years? Or did you miss how often the media is directly targeting people like him. Figure out why? No? I'll give you a hint, it's because he doesn't need them. And this is what an actual dying industry looks like.

Seems like you don't get that this is manufactured outrage though. Just remember, it's okay when they do it though. I'm sure you're going to line up and start complaining to the WSJ that the authors of the article be fired now right? Especially after all their antisemetic jokes. You know, like this one here among so many others.

What do GamerGaters think they are proving when they show lots of news stories about a particular topic? Is it supposed to prove some sort of conspiracy?

This is what caused GamerGate, idiots and bigots lashing out at people who point out that they're idiots and/or bigots. Citing the Daily Stormer is both.
Don't worry if you don't get it. I'm sure you missed the part where the WSJ implied he was a antisemite because of 4 tweets made by people who watched him. No? Go read that WSJ article again. Now you'll figure out the part about the daily stormer being the WSJ's #1 fansite and the rest should click into place. But if you currently enjoy the state of the 4th estate, then by all means. The irony of using the word bigot, when you engage in actual bigotry.

I'll remind you though, GameJournoPros was a conspiracy. Journolist was a conspiracy too. They both existed to push a particular ideological narrative from within their bubbles. Remember those email leaks from GJP's that showed they were engaging in censorship, threatening other reporters, and so on? No? You should go read those leaked emails then. Remember when Journolist was crafting stories, using talking points directly from insiders within the obama administration, in order to minimize the damage? No? You should go read those leaked emails.

The media is broken. And the defense of this type of bullshit, manufactured outrage, fake manufactured outrage for clicks isn't healthy for a democracy. If you think it is? Explain how it serves anyone in a positive way.

Well... Kevin Smith is also part of that Maker Studio mix. And from what I remember back in the day if food wasn't going into his mouth the word fuck was coming out of it.

Yet, not hearing any sort of hassles with him

I don't think it's that Disney expected him to change his tone, they just didn't expect him to go full-retard. It's not the early 90s anymore you can't claim "I didn't think they'd do something shocking on the internet for a dollar" as a defense anymore - at all.

That's true, modern corporate America has zero sense of humor. That's how Gilbert Gottfried lost his Aflac gig... Just another example of how they'll hire you for your pop culture influence (funny voice, etc.) while being completely oblivious to your actual personality. Gilbert is a FILTHY fucking comedian, lol, the tweets that did him in were child's play.

It is interesting though to see this battle play out now, between traditional media and a grassroots celebrity followed almost entirely by people who watch and read none of that shit.
In a series of Tweets that have subsequently been deleted from his page, GG wrote, “Japan is really advanced. They don’t go to the beach. The beach comes to them,” and “I just split up with my girlfriend, but like the Japanese say, ‘They’ll be another one floating by any minute now.'” He followed up on those gems with, “Japan called me. They said “maybe those jokes are a hit in the US, but over here, they’re all sinking.”
That didn’t go over well with the folks at Aflac, which does a significant chunk of its business in Japan. The company released this statement: “Gilbert’s recent comments about the crisis in Japan were lacking in humor and certainly do not represent the thoughts and feelings of anyone at Aflac… There is no place for anything but compassion and concern during these difficult times.”

Disney purchased Maker Studios which includes TB and a bunch of other youtubers too... but it definitely seems like they didn't know what they were getting into with the whole package. It's not like his act has changed in any way that it is suddenly a problem, most of the stuff people refer to other than the new $5 sign thing are old videos.

WSJ did not take anything out of context. At all.

They said he made anti-Semitic jokes and that he showed Nazi imagery. Which he did. Did you even read the article? The article also featured his defense, as "just jokes," and reached out to him for comment, which he declined.

The article was about how Influencers are less predictable than other people paid to endorse. And this also seems true. And yes, there's nuance behind the jokes, but the nuance does not matter to advertisers, as it's impossible for them to explain the nuance to every single customer, so just better for them to avoid paying people who require nuance to promote their products.

They never once called Pew Die Pie a Nazi, it's just you people cannot read.
