This guy nailed it....

I think he has missed the point of automation. It's first to reduce the amount of work humans need to do to survive and ultimately to eliminate that work entirely.

We don't need to become machines. We need to build machines that can do our will autonomously.

humans cant handle that kind of power... not even close...

imagine Trump with an always-on neural net link to every "internet of things" device on the planet.. so no, its not a good idea

the other thing these people havent considered is the development of will itself to begin with...

all you old guys think about it like this - how many phone numbers did you have memorized back in the 90s? how many do you have memorized now? its the same idea, eventually the machine WILL win because its all about "give me convenience or give me death"... its a slippery slope that these monkeys will drop off from in record time

but this is discounting the very real fact of eugenics, designer DNA and manufactured super-strong super-genius clones and so forth, what Shirow called "bioroids".. thats gonna be coming up a lot quicker than cybernetic integration at this kind of level... in fact that kind of cybernetic integration may even require that kind of genetic manipulation..

seriously sci-fi shit, man... Beatnik
