Tax incentives will fix everything. I'm sure the telecoms will work hard to expand and provide equitable service so as to maintain the good faith that was given to them when they received the incentives. I mean what corporation would do the absolute minimum possible and pocket as much of the incentives as they can as profit? Oh what is that? All of them? Actually yeah that sounds about right.

Ajit doesn't want a digital divide, he wants a digital chasm so wide that it cannot be crossed!

It would be funny if it wasn't so sad how GOP voters don't understand how the party actually works.

Hey, we GOP voters will put up with anything as long as the liebrawls are prevented from killing babies with birth control, amirite?

Zackly. It really just does boggle the mind how easy it is to manipulate those people.

Or just buy your own equipment! You can spend a couple hundred bucks on a quality modem and router or combo and it'll pay for itself in less than two years, then start saving you $10 every month after that. It's been 4 years now on my current modem and nearly 5 on the router, combined they cost the same as renting equipment for 14 months... And there's no remote reprogramming bullshit to deal with.

Side note: I'm actually considering upgrading to a gigabit router, since the service I get here clocks higher than 100Mb/s even though I only signed up for 80. It's surprising because Comcast was so shitty where I lived a couple years ago, having me pay the same amount of money for less than half the speed.

Comcast customers out there... Something I noticed while at my parents house... They apparently moved the public wifi options out of the modem config and onto some random page on their website (and turned the public wifi back on too). I had disabled this once before when they first announced it, so you might want to check to see that yours is still off.

Scumbags.
