This is a terrible decision to make for any law enforcement agency... if you DON'T chase this guy, these days he'll probably post this video online and encourage 100 other motorcycle assholes to run: "look, I sped up for a few minutes and they gave up!"

On the other hand, if you DO chase, you get this sort of insane high speed chase through traffic and pedestrians, where the officers and the suspects can get killed, along with bystanders.

My personal opinion is the chase isn't worth it, but I can see how people can argue to chase, from a strategic standpoint, not for just macho reasoning.

After I watched that video, I was amazed by the number of links to videos of Finnish/Swedish bike nuts doing the same shit, and I know it happens in the US also.

If we didn't have hundreds of more pressing problems in the world, I'd be up in arms about 200mph+ civilian motorcycles, but as it is, we have bigger shit to worry about.

That sort of shit pisses me off. They need to outlaw police chases. It's just not worth it. Macho psycho cops obviously don't care because they're all jacked about nailing the perp that all started over some stupid traffic violation. I personally know someone who was a victim of this sort of insanity.

Police chases kill more people each year than floods, tornadoes, hurricanes and lightning — combined

High-speed police chases have killed thousands of innocent bystanders

"Nearly every day, someone is killed during a high-speed chase between police and a suspect. Almost half of the 11,500 people killed since 1979 have been bystanders or passengers in fleeing cars"

For that argument to be validated, I'd need statistics comparing the deaths resulting of bozos driving at crazy speeds in perfect impunity VS police chases.

That seems crazy dangerous, I wonder what the suspects did to make this worthwhile.

What is the safest way to follow them? A helicopter alone, and hope they don't go into a multistory carpark or forest?

Gotta chase'em...20 minutes of high-speed chase in perfect weather conditions is safer than letting that guy get away and not be caught.

I wonder how much dangerous riding he would have done in the next year? 5? What if he was never caught?

Maybe silly Hollywood action directors will watch this video and learn some things about making an exciting and realistic chase.

That's what I was thinking while watching that. Way more thrilling than a movie chase. Friggin stupid too. Either of them could have died or killed someone else during that.
The address for the video has the name ghostrider in it. Not sure if it's really him, but a few years ago I checked out some of his videos. Damn good rider, but he's a fuckin nut job.
