Out of the Blue

I'm a little distressed that we're already in February, as I've barely gotten used to it being 2017 yet. On the other hand, I won't miss winter when it's done, so I guess that's still good news. On the winter front, we got a bit of snow here yesterday, but this was light, and made for easy shoveling, so I don't really have any cause to complain about winter so far either, as we haven't had too much snow and for the most part the temperatures have stayed pretty mild.

Mild Links: Thanks Ant and Acleacius.
Play: Wasteland Warriors.

Indeed!

btw they are rebooting the Dune series again

It's official -- Legendary Pictures has signed the very talented Denis Villeneuve to direct the exciting new DUNE series film project.

Now that's actually a movie that needs rebooting. The first half of it is excellent, but then they ran out of money or time or both, because the 2nd half of the movie is really rushed. Perhaps it needed to be several movies or a even a series.

Yeah if only someone made a Dune TV series, that would be awesome...

Wow. That is some seriously stupid corporate think. However, I have little doubt that management is patting themselves on the back over their great plan.

I live in SE Washington State and I swear every year whatever Blue is experiencing in weather, especially winter, we have the exact opposite. This is probably something everyone already knows but me, but the Northwest and Northeast corners of the US seem to always be 180 degrees off. I would think that they're far enough apart that they wouldn't have any correlation either way.

This year we're experiencing record snowfall. Personally I've gone through around sixty pounds of ice melt. The last couple years were brutal in the NE and during that time I hardly broke out the snow shovel.

As far as the bacon thing goes, I have a step-brother who's really into smoking and bbq-ing meat and he recently started making his own bacon out of lesser cuts of pork - and it's the best bacon I've ever had. Might have to start being extra nice to him.

So Denis Villeneuve is the new reboot king after JJ Abrams? David Lynch's Dune was good but wished he took the job for Return of the Jedi instead. Oh well.

Why is the reboot king? He hasn't rebooted anything before. And to be fair, it's not a reboot, it's a different interpretation. I've only seen Sciario and Arrival, but I like what I see of his work and he gets nothing but praise from the cast and crews that work with him. It should probably be a hell of a lot better than Lynch's scheisse.
