A short and edifying article on windshield repair.
Why auto glass service isn't all it's cracked up to be

Stay focused, you're trying to get work done.
Ha! I'll probably have to add Blue's News to this Chrome extension I've been using. It actually helps.
Nice. Yes you should definitely fine tune the settings on that, think of how much time it will save you once it's done. I bet your work area is a little cluttered too you should probably pick that up, but you're going to need to figure out a new more efficient filing system so you can easily find stuff you put away... should probably research that on the internet, after you've organized your favorites by names that sound most edible to least edible. /procrastinationpro

My previous car's windshield was a chip and crack magnet. Must have been something about the design that made windshield strikes more likely to crack it, maybe the angle. And $60 is pretty cheap to replace a windshield, at least around here, so at least you have that going for you.
I believe that's the price to repair the crack. The insurance company says they will cover replacing the windshield if it comes to that.

Hmm .. so I purchased this laptop from Costco.
I wasn't thinking it'd play games so well. Which isn't really a good thing since I'm trying to get work done. Intel has come a long in optimizing the 3D performance of integrated graphics.
I have original the Cyrsis, Crysis Warhead, and Crysis Wars on Steam. Should I try one of those? I've never played the games. Is there some kind of benchmark test I can run? I imagine I'll have to drop some graphical settings.

I watched a marble-sized rock fly across from the oncoming direction on the freeway, over the divider and directly into the center of my windshield a little less than a year ago. I remember seeing it so clearly, and it was almost dead on at me, so it looked like slow motion. When it hit, and I'm thankful it wasn't on my paint, it left a really nice circular spiderweb with a slight horizontal crack. Two days later, it had spread across 80% of the width of the windshield. Holy crap. Ended up replacing it and paying the difference for OEM glass and sealant. The insurance company will only pay for the cheaper, thinner glass and crappy-tier sealant.
I believe it cost me something like $400, but it was worth it to me.
