It's pretty public knowledge that Breath of the Wild was originally developed as a Wii U game. There have even been leaked images showing that both versions of the game are the exact same size.
You can believe whatever fantasy you choose about it, but the information is out there. To me it's incredibly disappointing to shell out $300 for a system that runs the same exact game as the old system with the same graphics and capabilities. This is exactly what they did with Twilight Princess, so they will have to do something different this time to convince me.
They lost the benefit of the doubt because of what they have actually done in the past.
Public knowledge doesn't really count if they have private knowledge about an upcoming system they're developing that they aren't telling anyone about.
It's not a fantasy to assume that Nintendo had prior knowledge of their own system they were developing.
And to insinuate that the Switch "runs the same exact game as the old system with the same graphics and capabilities" I think is conveniently omitting the entire point of the Switch. It's not an upgrade in graphics, it's a big upgrade in usability and mobility.
Are they kinda gimmicky? absolutely, but it's Nintendo, they're all about gimmicks. Some of them catch on, others don't.
