Yes that's what I was talking about. These are people fighting against something they feel is wrong, but they still have a few ounces of joy left in their lives. It's nice to play a character that cares about something genuine. So often we play characters that are simply following orders, or worse, pursuing petty vendettas or greed.
I get a little tired sometimes of any kind of positivity being characterized as "cringy" or childish while darker stories are somehow considered more mature or refined.
Do you have a single fact to back that up?
