Canadian here, couldn't help but watch a livestream of your election until after midnight. Interesting times.

I'll be shipping a small truckload of parts up from the US in the near future. Anyone in the NY area who wants to be smuggled across just send me a note. I'll even poke some breathing holes in the box for you.

I don't know, feels pretty good at the office

All of the sour grapes and doom/gloom aside, Trump had a pretty gracious speech last night so hopefully the circus is leaving town now that the campaigning is done.

That's what you get doing protest votes, write-in candidates for president, or voting for Gary Johnson or Jill Stein.

Florida, for example, was decided by less than the percentage of votes given to alternative party candidates. Nice work.

Of course the real blame lies with the people who got suckered in by Trump's racist tirades, but what can you do; people are ignorant.

Now the only question is, what country will be least affected by Trump's presidency? Norway? Belize? Questions, questions...

But he got the votes BECAUSE he is a circus clown ignoring every limit! If he gave that up, he would be... sheesh... ESTABLISHMENT! The evil word! And no billionaire is establishment, right?

Yeah, no one expected that. I was way off I admit, but you can only go on what media is reporting and they had it completely wrong. Still, I'm not surprised, and said as much a week or two back. All these political pundits keep scratching their heads in bewilderment, what they failed to realize is that it's not about Trump the man, it's about the message. Regardless of his personal shenanigans he's anti-establishment, and that resonates with people, everyone - on both sides of the aisle - are sick of the status quo and career politicians who say one thing and do another. If the Democratic party wanted a real shot they should have went with Bernie, but oh no, they just knew better didn't they?

Free-trade has decimated the working class around the world, not just in the US and people are sick of it. And in the last 10 years now it's moved into white collar. Just look at all the jobs lost to India, China, etc.. So when that's falling down too something has to give. Occupy, Brexit, etc. there are all endemic around the first world now. Unchecked immigration, terrorism, economic uncertainty, corporate rule, etc. everyone is saying enough is enough.

And regardless of any of that, the guy is President, not Emperor, it doesn't give him carte blanche to do what he wants. I don't like the guy, but I like the fact the system is getting a shake up it desperately needs. And as I've said before, if nothing else, I think this is going to be a pretty entertaining 4 years...provided it doesn't end in Armageddon. And who knows, maybe he'll actually surprise and get some shit done.

You can still be rich and anti-establishment, you know. And Trump really is, maybe not for the same reasons most people are, but it doesn't much matter if he can change some of it.

No, you can't, unless your mad like Howard Hughes. Or too full of yourself to understand that having millions and billions means that you have established yourself in the realm of the wealthy few.

Might be different in the cutterverse, though.

Plus: I was writing about how breaking promises made before the election would make him a typical established politician.

Really? Feels like early Christmas here! Less wars (maybe even no new ones at all), more honest politics, Europes establishment also realizing they cant go on like that, and the most important thing: No criminal regime in the US.
Couldnt be happier right now! It means a lot for the whole world!

Uh, it wasn't a landslide. 270 electoral votes to win, he got 279. And he lost the nationwide popular vote. But a win is a win...

So what happened!(?)?(?)

A BIG message was sent to Washington by the American people, Trump actually gave a nice victory speech, and Hilary didn't give any speech and was nowhere to be found..........
