Sad and terrifying, this is only the beginning.

If this is what you believe then how are you preparing for it? Because using the internet to anonymously call people you don't even know racist and sexist doesn't work. Having a huge public tantrum by sitting in freeways and smashing cars doesn't gain any sympathy.

I will promise you one thing. If Trump does any sort of crazy unconstitutional shit, goes after marriage rights, starts trade wars leading to a depression, or fails at making it easier for people to become legal citizens, I'll be right there with you and we can make this a really short presidency for him.

The promises continue evaporating. In addition to dismissing term limits, and putting long-time career politicians into the cabinet, we have further developments.

Now it looks like the wall will be just more fencing.

Now, Donald Trump is offering the job of Treasury Secretary to Jamie Dimon, the man he called "the worst banker in the United States" just a couple years ago.

Oh, and for all the talk by the right-wingers that we should pay attention to the other side and reach out to them, we now see Newt Gingrich laughing about how they're going to shut out the traitors and those who didn't show sufficient support and respect for Mr. Trump. There will be no cooperating with Democrats. It's steamrolling time.

This is just scratching the surface. So yeah, you could say that I think anyone voting for the guy based on his plans is crazy or illiterate, or both.

Those 'crazy' people just won the house, senate and presidency. Maybe we could stand to listen a little more.

No amount of listening is going to make that pile of nonsense he calls "plans" any better. If listening to Trump himself isn't enough to convince you that he doesn't know a damned thing about anything, then reading the plans on his website certainly should.

So, maybe you want change. Fine, I get that. I do too. But Trump isn't change. He's already proving it with his cabinet picks.

He isn't going to fix things for you, you can see that just by looking at the fact that he has no actual plans. He's just going to end up doing what Republicans always do, and nothing is going to get better for his supporters, or anyone else, aside from those who are already doing extremely well.

4. Rebuilding the military. We already have the largest most powerful military in the world. I'm hoping he means to change weapons procurement methodologies so we don't end up with over-expensive, troubled weapons systems like the F-35 or Zumwalt.

Whoa, whoa, whoa...I know the F-35 was a money sink (err, blackhole?) but what was wrong with the Zumwalt destroyers? That's a new one for me, I was under the impression the R+D for it was actually underbudget. Was I hallucinating? (which, given the last couple weeks, is definitely a possibility )

=-Rigs-=

The Zumwalt (DDG 1000) ended up costing so much that the USN decided to cut the order from 20 ships down to 3. Three. As a result, the per ship cost has swelled to $7.5B per ship, an exorbitant amount. Also, the expensive shells fired from the Zumwalt guns have swollen to $800,000 each due to the small amount purchased after the number of ships was cut down to three. $800K is an outrageous amount given that typical shells usually cost hundreds of dollars.

Overall, the Zumwalt is an underpowered, poorly thought out, expensive warship.

Congress refusal to approve the SCOTUS nomination was a national disgrace.

Yeah, it sets an awful precedent.

It will be interesting to see if the Rs change the Senate rules to prevent filibustering of SCOTUS nominations. If they don't it would put the Ds in an awful position. They can either play the same game and filibuster SCOTUS nominations until they get a reasonable one (or for 2 years when the mid-terms happen, which ever comes first). Or they can surrender and allow the court to get pushed even further to the right for the next 30 years. It would be a no win situation.

It will be pretty simple... the GOP establishment will pass what they want to pass, Trump will sign it. They won't even vote on things like term limits. And there's nothing Trump can do about it. It is a total win for the GOP establishment.

Then we have McConnell coming out to say they aren't doing the term limits either. Promises are evaporating pretty quickly.

You sound surprised by this. The guy is a bullshit artist who promised everything to everyone, as long as they got onboard.

No, I'm not at all surprised by it. I've read a lot of the proposals he has up on his website. It's all a bunch of nonsense that's often contradictory. His tax plan is insane, and will leave him no money for the wall or anything else, since we'll be trillions in the hole at that point. He has no idea about anything regarding the military (but I'm sure he knows a lot more than the generals!), but wants to "rebuild" it, which probably just means more handouts to defense contractors. He's just trading one set of crony capitalists for another set.

He's going to repeal Obamacare and replace it with.... something that makes no sense. His health care plan calls for reducing barriers to entry for drug providers, and simultaneously ensuring that their products are safe, more reliable, and cheaper. WTF is he smoking? Oh, and also the old selling plans across state lines, as long as they meet the state's requirements, which is meaningless, as they can already do that.

This is just scratching the surface. So yeah, you could say that I think anyone voting for the guy based on his plans is crazy or illiterate, or both.

Maybe but that's what people wanted, the chance of it happening. Certainly wasn't going to be possible under Clinton from their perspective. Trump will get a chance to make good on his promises and if he doesn't then he will be held accountable in the next election. In the meantime rather than blaming Trump voters I think there's a fair amount of blame to go around in the Democratic party.

You guys had a real shot with Sanders, not sure why the signs were continually ignored. Hell I would've voted for Sanders and I'm fairly right of center.

I'm not a Democrat, I'm an independent. Sanders was absolutely the better candidate though. I have my doubts about Trump being held accountable for much of anything.

They don't have to treat him equally if they don't want to, but they don't get to treat him unequally and then claim the whole primary was fair.
