Pence sure seems like a piece of work though. He'll likely be the one doing most of the work from behind the scenes and that's a hell of a lot more terrifying since it seems he has much more support from fellow Republicans.
I feel as though Trump doesn't believe most of what he says and instead just said it because "oh he says it like it is!" but Pence is a genuine nutbar.

I'm a dual US/Canadian living in BC. I'm stressing about my 8 year old son, when I dropped him off at school today all of the talk was around how horrible Trump and the US are. My son is the only American in his grade so I'm mentally preparing for the bullying to come. Hopefully I'm wrong.
Your fear of your son being bullied because he is an American sounds more like an indictment on Canada than America.

Very ashamed to be an American today.

DNC let everyone down by simply picking Hillary because it was 'her turn'
The DNC didn't "pick" anybody. That's revising history. The leaked e-mails didn't show any mass conspiracy. In fact, there were e-mails both for and against Hilary.
The Democrat voters picked Hilary, and by a wide margin. Bernie only won in caucus states -- the ones most liable to party influence. In states that had a straight vote, Bernie got trounced.
Democratic voters only have themselves to blame. First they picked Hilary in the primaries, then they didn't bother to show up in the general. If as many Democrats turned up to vote as they did in the last presidential election, Trump would have been destroyed. Stop trying to blame the "party leaders" for your own choices.
