The Crew’s sprawling facsimile of the US is one of the biggest open worlds ever created, and in the nearly two years since its release, players have free-driven a collective 11 billion kilometers across it, or about 6,835,083,115 miles (for those of us living in the actual US). That kind of distance – equivalent to a round trip to Pluto – took 19,430 player-years to rack up, a number made possible only because The Crew has hit 10 million players over its lifetime.

I expect that The Crew being added as part of the Ubi30 giveaway boosted the player numbers a bit.

I played it for a few hours. The handling is abysmal. I like open world games but I cannot see myself playing this. I just hope that the handling in Horizon 3 is better but I'm not getting my hopes up.
Next racer I'll probably try is Assetto Corsa. Project Cars' handling is pretty good but there are still some problems like brakes never locking up etc.
Ok if you have ever played a Forza or Forza Horizon game how DARE you bitch about car handling. If the car handling is wrong, then you are driving it wrong.
That being said, The Crew has BAD car handling. Which surprises me because this was originally suppose to be a "Driver" game. It's worse then Watch Dogs, but slightly better then Sleeping Dogs car handling.

10 million in total have tried it, sure. I mean, it was free on the Xbox, free on the PC. People will definitely give it a go.
But actual people playing was maybe a few hundred on the xbone.
That said, it's a fun, though flawed, game. For free, it's a no-brainer.
