THQ Nordic Acquires NovaLogic Franchises [Oct 31, 2016, 10:43 am ET] – Share – Viewing Comments
THQ Nordic announces the acquisition of the NovaLogic Trademark and all the
company's franchises, famed for their hardcore military simulations and the
pioneering use of voxel graphics years before anyone started digging Minecraft.
"NovaLogic pioneered military simulations and military-themed multiplayer
shooters with vehicular combat and also clearly targeted at an adult audience,"
said Reinhard Pollice, Business and Product Development Director, THQ Nordic.
"We are extremely satisfied with the new additions to our portfolio, and also
very thrilled about how to continue some of said franchises, we are open for
talks in this regard if any developer approaches us with a concept for a
potential sequel to any IP." Here's a partial list of the IPs involved:

I loved Comanche back in the day. The graphics were pretty impressive for the time.
I have fond memories of Joint Ops coop games with my kids.

Dunno who ran Novalogic but they couldnt have blown an opportunity any more than they did. The engine they had could've supported a huge military MMO but instead they chose to simply keep repackaging their past successes.

Same. Delta Force 2 was a favorite of mine, circa 1999.
Yeah, loved these games back in the day, especially Comanche and the DF series. It (sort of) filled a niche that something like ArmA might fill today, albeit on smaller maps.
But I don't think they've really done anything for 15 years.

Armored Fist or a proper Commanche remake would be neat... But yeah, they buy them up, but do they actually plan to do anything with it?

Is it just me, or is THQ Nordic just buying up a ton of IP with the sole intention to do nothing with it outside of license it to someone else hoping to cash in on nostalgia?
