Yeah I'm sure it will since the 4gb ram limit will be gone since this is 64-bit.

If I remember right you can work around the 4GB limit of the old version using SKSE. (ed) I don't actually remember it allowing the game to access more than the 32 bit limit, but it did vastly improve its memory management solving loads of problems/crashes/freezes/infinite loading.. /ed

Watched a video where someone monitored memory usage while spawning things etc, taking note of when it crashed related to memory usage and so on.

With the SKSE memory workaround it flew past the point were it consistently crashed, memory wise, while the performance remained stable.

So while the 64 bit version is good news (and is something that inexcusably should have been available from the start, would have been simple and quick to do), it's also no longer as important thanks to the modding community.

My install of Skyrim is heavily modded and stand-alone (I can reinstall Windows without having to reinstall Skyrim or the mods or even redo settings). Considering how much work it is to mod the game to what one wants it would take a hell of a lot more than what the "Special Edition" has shown to go through all that trouble again.

Maybe if they've kept 100% compatibility with standard mods, sometime in the distant future when I have a bunch of days to burn away on modding the game nevermind play, then I'll give it a go.

It did for me. I had a copy of the legendary edition I bought on ubersale I intended to gift to my son. He never wanted it so it sat there.

I owned all the DLC but hearhfire, and when I applied the legendary edition to my account it upgraded my license to include everything.

Mind you, I didn't have it installed so I don't know if it does something stupid like re-download anything, but I have all the DLC listed there now - and that's the only change I see.

Very nice of them to offer this as free for owners of all DLC. I was hesitant to buy Hearthfire, but a sale and the potential for mods to require it convinced me. It is finally paying for itself.

Wow, really? You mean I can spend $15 for the Legendary Edition of the game and I get a free upgrade? That sounds pretty darn neat!

... but what if I already own Skyrim base game and buy a Legendary Edition key? Will it give me the DLC, flag my copy as LE, and everything's fine?

I am concerned however with this being a separate release, much like the recently released Bioshock Remastered games, or will it be delivered as an "update" to current Skyrim installations. Many people may be concerned that their current mod setup will be ruined by Steams automatic update service.

In any case, I intend to buy more RAM.

I would love to play this, but since I don't have all the DLC I doubt I will get the free update and paying 40 for the missing DLC? I don't think so, maybe when there is a sale I will get them.

If the Special Edition runs better than my modded install of basically mesh and texture replacements, than I am all for it. This the one game that suffered the most when I made the change to Win 10...having it running well again without having to sacrifice my eye candy would be great. All the other types of mods will be adapted eventually. The mod community is nothing if not determined and resourceful. Given enough time they have proven that they will add whatever the hell they want to a TES game eventually. (speaking from the PC perspective of course..console modding is not there yet obviously)

Been running so many mods on PC for so long that when watching I was like, "yeah, ummm, this looks alight." But, yay consoles!

This guy posts about 13 minutes of scenery/footage, but be sure and mute him, as he openly talks about how he got a free copy of the game, and a free elgato to encode it with (so anything he says is a little suspect).

But it does look damn pretty, and I can't wait to play it again.

That just sounds like a mixture of disclosure and advertising. He got product X for free, used it to make the recording, check the video so see the quality for oneself...

I don't see any issue with him getting a free copy of the game and disclosing that.

I'd be more inclined to ignore what he says about it based on him focusing almost exclusively on Bethesda games.

Infact if I went into tinfoil hat mode, I'd say it's almost suspicious how he seems to focus almost exclusively on Bethesda games. Sure if it was all about Skyrim and maybe Fallout, but there are a number of genres/game types there, but virtually all from Bethesda. Some videos even being about Bethesda rather than one of their games.

Without the tinfoil hat, maybe he's just a fanboy, that also sounds like he's rehearsed a marketing pitch.

Going to be sweet. Have not played it yet as it was a buggy broken POS on the PS3. So assuming it isn't broken on the PS4 Ive a solid month of awesome gaming ahead of me
