Epic Games announces
Robo Recall,
an arcade action game for virtual reality coming early next year. This will be
free for Oculus Rift, and they say, "Developers will benefit from Robo Recall’s
features, as Epic regularly ships new engine upgrades to the UE4 community."
Here's the
announce
trailer with a look at the game, and here's word:
Epic Games is
thrilled to announce
Robo Recall, the company’s new VR game for Oculus Touch. Revealed onstage
during today’s Oculus Connect 3 keynote in San Jose, Robo Recall features
over-the-top arcade action, satisfying combat and input designed for the new
Oculus Touch controllers. Robo Recall is coming in early 2017 and will be free
for all Oculus Rift owners.
Using a range of customizable and unlockable weapons, Robo Recall tests players’
bot-destroying skills throughout a variety of increasingly challenging and
over-the-top missions. Built on top of the Oculus platform API, high scores and
leaderboard rankings can be earned by destroying robot foes with the use of
creative combat tactics and skill shots throughout the game’s stunning city
environments. Robo Recall also features an emergent sandbox experience that
allows players to test out trick shots while tearing apart and decimating robots
in extreme ways!
Robo Recall is Epic’s first fully-featured VR game and the spiritual successor
to
Bullet Train, the critically-acclaimed VR demo revealed at Oculus Connect
2.
