My experience was with Forza Horizon 3 through the Windows Store, but I found it didn't want to download stuff correctly until I downloaded and installed the latest Windows updates. Initially it didn't want to install until I installed the Anniversary update, then after the first patch it didn't want to patch up until I applied the cumulative update for Anniversary.

It's not great, but you can try making sure there are no Windows updates sitting in the wings.
Unfortunately I'm all up to date. I've tried numerous things but now I can't get past 2.74MB - it always hangs there now. This is one of the worst experiences I've had with PC gaming since GFWL, another terrible service by Microsoft.

Can't even download the game because the Windows Store is a fucking disgrace. It got up to 27GB, then just stopped downloading - tried pausing it and resuming but that managed to lose all my progress. Then when I tried downloading it again it got stuck at 2.74MB (yup, megabytes) and then refused to do anything. I've tried logging out, restarting, using WSReset, etc.

Microsoft needs to quit fucking up PC gaming and just use Steam like everybody else. This is the worst gaming experience I've had in years. The sooner Microsoft kills the Xbox brand the better, as it has only hurt PC gaming.

Just pop for another 512M SSD. They're only about $100, and black Friday is coming up soon. Does your machine have room for only one drive?

I think most motherboards only have one M.2 slot, so unless you're happy with a SATA III SSD (LIKE SOME PLEEB! ) you're basically stuck with one super fast drive.

TB ones are coming down to around 400 now. I reckon by January they'll be in the 300 price range.

I must be old school but I don't keep games on my SSD
I have a 5TB WD black drive with all my games on it.

It makes such a huge difference to have your games on an SSD though. Load times in the Witcher III are essentially non-existent after the very first one. It takes me 2 seconds to fast travel from one side of the map to the other.

It was even worse in Dragon Age:Demon Gate Closer. When I had initially installed it, I put it on an HD by mistake. It took like 45 seconds just to load to the menu.

Wiped it, reinstalled to my games SSD, ~ 15 seconds to load to the menu.

I ain't got time to wait, homie!

Looks like it is DX12 only, which means it will run like a dog with 4 broken legs on my NVIDIA 970.

Hopefully they do the same as they did with Quantum Break and release a DX11 Steam version?

One thing I wanted to mention is the bottom part has the monitor resolution listing 3840x2160).

That's on a 32-40ish inch monitor, mines a 40 inch samsung j series that I could get the right 4:4:4 chroma settings on. The latency isn't to bad, its about 8ms, im not a pro gamer and my internet connection is shit anyway, lol.

On the bright side you get to turn off AA because everything is displayed at such a high resolution. X-com2 was kind of choppy on my 970 and that was even on med settings.

4K resolution is kind of a joke. Unless you have a 50+ inch monitor you probably won't see much difference. I have a 4k monitor next to a 1080 one and it is really hard to tell the difference between them.

So I guess if you play on a big 4k TV or monitor you will see a difference, but if you are using desktop monitors, it is a waste of money.

I also store most of my games on a hard disk, the SSD just houses games that I most actively play. Rather easy to move these games around if you have steam. Storing all your games on a SSD just tells me you are lazy.

I have an i7 6700k GTX970 rig hooked up to a 55 inch 4k TV with a bluetooth keyboard and mouse and a Steam controller. Sadly though, it's not my main gaming computer. I mean, it plays the titles I own well enough, but at 4k on that screen the text tends to be really small, even when I increase its size to maximum.

I can be kinda fun for the right games - ones that don't use much text. Unfortunately I prefer deep RPGs and end up squinting at the screen to find out what the heck is going on.

No interest since the previous sequels never came to PC.

I'm not sure if the story will have many ties to the original trilogy, aside from Marcus. I'd bet the intro video probably very cleanly explains the prior events. Trust me, you don't want to have to slog through GoW2 anyway. Missing the third one is a bit of a shame, it constantly pulled off "impossible" things (for the 360's hardware), has their wittiest writing, although the main antagonist never made any sense...

Bah. These are silly bro-tastic shooter games intended to be played co-op, and that's my plan.

I run the OS and Steam on an SSD but all my games are on a 2TB drive. It's very fast. Fast enough for me anyway.

As far as GoW goes, if it is bundled with the 1060 I'm going to buy soon I'll try it out, otherwise I'll pass.
