Battlefield 4 Free DLC

EA's On the House program now offers all the DLC for Battlefield 4 for free as a gift to anyone who owns the first-person shooter. Word is: "Take the fight farther with new maps weapons, vehicles and gear. Grab Battlefield 4™ Second Assault, Dragon's Teeth, Final Stand, Naval Strike, and China Rising - they're all absolutely FREE right now!" A Road To Battlefield 1 post explains:
Battlefield™ 1 is coming next month, and we're celebrating by keeping the action going in Battlefield 4™ and Battlefield™ Hardline. For the past few months we've been giving away previously released expansion packs for both games to anyone playing on Xbox One, Xbox 360, Origin for PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 3. There are also new Community Missions and a whole lot more to get excited about.

All Five Battlefield 4 Expansion Packs Are Now Free*

As we approach the end of the road, we’ve got something really special for anyone looking to get some Battlefield 4 action in before Battlefield 1 ships on October 21. From September 14 until September 19, every expansion pack for Battlefield 4 is now available for free. That’s right, all of ‘em. And we’ve even got themed Community Missions to go along with them.

Oddly enough, all the BF1 beta did for me was to remind myself that I own BF4. And while I won't know until release, after playing BF4 a few times over the last week, I have a feeling BF4 will probably be the better game and will satisfy my battlefield playstyle needs when in the mood.

Also shortly into the beta, I was reminded of how awesome it would be to have mod tools for the community. It seems like so much could be done with the Frostbite engine and there is so much wasted potential.

I would love to see a more PC oriented battlefield. Nothing really grabbed me with the BF1 beta, gameplay wise, it felt rather casual.

ArmA 3 too much for ya?

ArmA 3's unoptimized game engine is too much for me. None of the mods did much for me either. I played wasteland and king of the hill quite a bit but yeah...

Which brings me back to the Frostbite engine. I'd be curious to see if they could do something the scale of ArmA. Hell, not even that large. How about BF2 game mechanics and maps about 2-3 times as large and scale as they were, and about 100 people.

50% discount on many games including bf4 if don't have it. Code is Origin50

I just picked it up for $5 not two weeks ago on Origin. Now all the DLC is free? That's a pretty sweet deal.

EDIT: WTF? I have to add each one individually?

Lol! First world problems. $5 for the entire game, and I have to click several times!?!?

My index finger broke out in a sweat!!

BF4 is great, I think I'm just getting to the point where I've got more hours into BF4 than all the previous Battlefield games, BF1942 exlcuded.

Thanks for the Origin50 code, I picked up SW:Battlefront, mainly to see how gorgeous it looks on my new desktop.

I've been playing Dragon Age:Inquisition, and it's surprisingly good so far, and it looks amazing on max settings.

The only issue is all of these 'new' Origin games seem to be anywhere from 40-70gigs, I'm going to have to finally delete BF4 by the time BF1 rolls around. *sheds a tear, as he lovingly shoots down one last jet with a tank*

Still waiting on the free Battlefront DLC.

There's been 3 of the big maps (Walker Assault) released for free since launch, bringing the total from 4 to 7. And 5 new infantry maps, bringing the total from 12 to 17 I think?

So the vanilla game has I think 24 total unique maps? And yes, the small maps aren't just a slice of the big ones, at no point in Walker Assault on Hoth do you enter the "Ice Caves" part of the level, the small maps were designed from the ground up for TDM-type stuff. As opposed to BF4 which just took one if their giant conquest maps, and stuck a bunch of shipping containers in a yard at one flag and call it TDM...

ANYWAYS, I recommend the Naval Strike expansion for anyone new to the BF4 DLC, it's "Titan mode" from 2142, where you have to cap missile silos to punch holes in a giant aircraft carrier instead of a floating titan.

The problem is only 3 maps get played.....

This kind of thing just makes it less likely I would buy their DLC in the future. Glad I didn't get the season pass.

Which you could say with some authority sure. Until you realize that the game is 3 years old now, so it makes sense in order to boost player numbers a bit and bring the community back together.

I believe they're going to update the game with an in-game server browser.

probably not until after BF1 is released though.

Not sure when you last played it but the DICE LA team has done wonders with balance and netcode/server performance and it's in a great state these days. If the DLC is free and if EA Access for $5 gets you BF4 for a month until BF1, that's a steal. Even the 50% off Origin code to buy BF4 and get the DLC free is a steal IMO. I haven't had any problems with the server browser in a long time either (firefox). If you have a second screen or a laptop handy you should try logging into battlelog with that while you're in a match and use the BattleScreen (overhead map). It's pretty sweet and I'll miss it a lot in BF1 - I'd totally take the web based server browser if it meant I could keep that.

Anyway I think it's worth giving it another look especially for the price and free dlc now. Cheers
