Red Dead Redemption PC Rumors Resurface

Korean site Game Focus has an unconfirmed report that a port of Red Dead Redemption is coming to PCs in the first half of next year. The report is in the site's native Korean, but NeoGAF has details in English. This states a remastered edition of the wild western action/adventure is coming to PC and PlayStation 4, and an Xbox One edition is also possible. This story is attributed to North American sources, and it says an official announcement could come as early as tomorrow. Thanks nin.

I'm just tired of this new trend of reintroducing 5 to 10 year old games. Rockstar should be announcing RDR 2, no?

There are rumors that RDR2 has been in development for years now, so it should be announced very soon. It should be available on PC at launch, so it makes sense to release the original on PC as well.

Red Dead Redemption was one of the best games I've ever played, and I've played them all.
This game NEEDS a PC port... It's simply too good to miss!

At this point, who cares?

Everyone. Everyone and their dog cares, including you. You just don't know it yet. RDR isn't just the best western game ever made, it's one of the best games ever made. I bought an Xbox primarily for this title alone. They don't need to change a damn thing except update the graphics so a remastered version of this on the PC with hi-rez textures? Aaa!Ooo! Forgedaboutit!

They need to change the controls. It was either zero aim assist, and you were expected to shoot down 20 hostiles in seconds with a controller, which was pretty much impossible...

Or you'd turn the aim assist on and if you ADSsed within a 30 degree arc of a hostile, it would snap you to their head. It was by far the most generous aim assist I've seen since something like GTA 3. It made the game ridiculous. There was so much realism, so much atmosphere, then it would turn into an aim-bot carnival game, then back to super serious.... it was really immersion-breaking.

A PC version with proper raw mouse input controls would solve all of that. But that is the one thing that's always needed to be changed.

Yeah, ok, true enough. Still, Rockstar will pull it off. This would just be tits, man! Big fat funbags!

And Jay they are working on RDR2. Have been for a few years now. It'll be out next year I suspect. That's why this is massive hooters to motorboat. RDR remaster this year gets everyone all amped, and then RDR2 next year, and it's huge knockers time for everyone! In fact, word around the campfire is we should hear an official announcement in this regard by week's end. Honk honk!

3. RDR 3.

Technically, the first game in the Red Dead series was called Red Dead Revolver. Then came Read Dead Redemption. A third game in the series might not have "Redemption" in the name at all.

I'm down. Heard lots of good things about it but never actually played it.
I'd imagine a remastered edition is due at this point to double dip. Additionally as PC gamers never got it, they usually get the remastered editions.

I don't know if I would buy a straight up remaster. Now if they do something like they did with GTA5, then hell ya... Course all my friends would probably buy it then I would have to too because it's just so much fun piling into a stage coach and roaming the desert wreaking havoc.

Never got around to it on old consoles but would jump at the chance to play a prettier PC version. Would also love to see what the mod community could do with it, probably moreso than a GTA game.

I'm going to go with if it is good and if it is priced right that I will buy it. Sure it would have been better being out years ago, I guess the benefit now is a better looking game at a lower price, I think.

I do. I've always wanted to play this game but not owned a console in the past decade. If this pans out I'll be happy I waited. Rockstar has been hinting at this for a while now and I'm looking forward to when they announce it finally, and then playing the best possible version of this game on PC.

Think I'm one of the few who really wasn't that fussed by it on 360. I keep seeing it crop up as one of the ultimate games but it's GTA on a horse.

I don't think rockstar is going to or would have ever done this, they are dicks. Now since 2k took over, I can see them getting a 3rd party developer to do it. They are a publisher, interested in profits and the goodwill probably wouldn't hurt 2k either.

I couldn't wait to play this, even rented an XBox just so I could. However, aiming with a controller feels like a handicap when you're used to fluidly aiming with a mouse & keyboard, so I quickly gave up.

Would have absolutely loved a PC port, was upset when they decided not to, despite the fact that it would have easily been profitable.

So now, after all these years, they finally decide to do so? C'mon man. I'm refusing to buy it on principal.

They should port it to DirectX 12, just to laugh their asses off about people who... well, forget it. Don't want to troll.

I have just watched some gameplay vids. Looks like Witcher 2 with guns to me - I WANT THIS GAME ON PC!

Why though? Is there a lack of new games for you to play? There's a whole generation of new hardware and many people didn't experience these games the first time around. We never got a PC version, you don't think there is demand for it? RDR 2 is coming soon and these remasters are staffed by young/new employees, they don't tend to take away anything from other projects. Remasters are fine with me, you can just safely ignore them if you aren't interested and they are often repackaged with newer iterations in a franchise for more value.

I'm pretty sure they have enough people to do both.
