I've seen a few sad reminders lately that today is the anniversary of Paul Steed's passing. The former id artist died four years ago today, and in many ways the shock from that persists. Paul would like the attention, but not the mourning. I imagine he would far prefer the takeaway from this to be to appreciate life and friends as best you can. At least that's how I try to view it. I try to use thoughts like that as a reminder to be better about keeping in touch with people.

A football/hockey/basketball player should make scads more money than the assholes in hobbies like baseball and golf do.

A football player is the least skilled athlete of any major sport. Let's stop pretending like what they do warrants any more money than other "actually skilled" athletes.

Football is simply the lowest grade of sporting entertainment possible. 16 minutes of "game" in a 3 hour broadcast, and 50 athletes that can't do much more than run into each other at full speed. Only in America could such a shit sport be invented :p
