They probably made a point of including her because it's a video about a new version of their game, they're probably going to feature new stuff - but more significantly, your tone seems to be dismissive of feminism yet if "because feminism" is the reason why games don't ignore women's existence then feminism in video games is very important.

Cool your jets, mate...I was just channeling my inner John Oliver, not making a quasi-political statement about the depiction of the opposite sex in video games. My 'dismissive tone' was on purpose, not a declaration of personal opinion and/or feeling...we don't need to start putting formal disclaimers in our forum signatures, I hope... Inquisitive

Sorry, I shouldn't have been snippy. I assumed you were doing that thing where someone assumes every female/minority is a token character and then complains about token characters as if their own attitude didn't suggest under-representation.

Bit ironic that Redface

I would not call putting in a female farmer skin a feature. They could easily model and patch that into previous 2-3 farming sim games.

You could say the same for pretty much any addition in annual iteration simulations.

Still wish someone would merge Spintires with this one... as it stands, it is really more a plastic lego world than anything else, and this is sadly a trend with these annual simulators Farming just doesn't feel right when all you do is basically change the field textures with your work steps.

Also it kinda bothers me mono-culture isn't punished by decreasing yields and increasing diseases. This game really shows only the "teen" rated side of farming.. if one can call it that. I get why they do it, but something in me craves for a *real* simulation with all the ugly and complex parts of farming. Mainly because it would be highly educational, and for joke, the start scenario starts you with nothing, you start your farm in-doors with aquarium sized modern growth equipment and expand from there, to a fully robot run farm ;p

So they made the graphics a bit more shiny, made the animations a bit smoother. The Equipment is looking fantastic. But I just do not see any improvement from the older farming sim games.

Its like farm equipment porn. Throw in some terrain deformation, or make it like Spintires where the ground gets messed up the more you use it. Or allow you to customize the farm land. Something! its just driving farm equipment around a plastic map. I give up.

+1 Nod

Indeed, while watching (and noticing they made a point of including the new female farmer because feminism... #feminism #farmthisbitch), all I could think about (beyond wondering why the female farmer didn't resemble Lara Croft and/or Kim Kardashian (#bigbootyfarmgirls #citygirlslikeredneckstoo)) was when they were going to get around to actually employing real-time physics to the various plants and vehicles? (not to mention certain other physical attributes (#farmersdaughtersgonewild)) Having terrain deformation would be a huge step in the right direction. I mean, Red Faction did this how many decades ago?! Why isn't this a standard feature in all simulations nowadays? Nearly every FPS has individual plants and many are destructible, so why not here? It's a major part of the game! This just looks like a pretty mobile game at best...someone wake me up when they decide to actually get serious... Bored

Hey, lottsa people would like a farm, I'm one of them. Not that big and commercial but gentleman farming for sure. Enough to provide most of my own food and enough to sell at farmers markets and restos to make some bucks. I'd really like to get into mushroom and microgreen farming.

What is stopping you? You can establish an indoor mushroom farm with modern growth LED's and a basic vapor based watering solution for around $2k... takes about as much space as an aquarium.

Looks pretty good actually. Some of these contraptions seem to match Mars landers for complexity.
