"Other than the planets"... erm. You mean other than the primary reason the devs built this game? Yes, this game is going to be a pretty planet simulator. That's probably all it is. I'm cool with that, considering how early we are in the development of the pretty planet simulator genre.
No Man's Sky has to exist before my ultimate dream game will.
I think some people are incredibly short sighted - both those who think that NMS IS going to be that ultimate dream game, and those who think that if it ISN'T, it's a complete failure.

Oh God, it's begun! The Great Florp Outbreak of '16 is upon us all! Save the women and children first! Florp's always go after the weaker individuals of the target species...And don't forget to read your Florp Outbreak Handbook! May God have mercy on our souls...

My plan is the name the first planet I land on Cutter in honor of its unruly and harsh landscape.
You can name all the creatures stuff like "Wire Fraud" and "Class Action Lawsuit" and other good Cutter catchphrases.
Indeed. Florp is a good name for a fish.![]()

I do agree Elite makes long range travel boring. I'm not a big fan of their supercruise implementation.

This thing may or may not be a fun toy. It will not cure cancer. -Jn-

Yeah, I'm with you on this. It'll be interesting to see if this will be more interesting than Elite. Right now I'm expecting it to be exactly as boring.
Elite has missions, numerous ships of different classes and a robust trading system. I think No Man's Sky is even more barebones, other than the pretty planets? I liked Elite for what it was. I'm wary about this one though.
