I've found that games with lots of unlocks tend to release yearly installments anyway, so they're intended to die fast.

say what you want about unlocks but it keeps people playing, most games with shallow unlock systems die pretty fast.

Out of curiosity if you like shooters but don't like BF games what ones do you like and why? Perhaps more sim-like games like Arma?

BF1 looks like great immersive fun... For about ten hours. I found BF2/3/4 repetitive and shallow. Not worth full price. I wish they'd do a PRmod inspired expansion or at least open up modding again.

My interest in this one is lukewarm, I have a feeling this one isn't going to have the staying power of previous Battlefield games.

Something about the squad mechanic seems off from the "real" gameplay shown, I also think it looks like it's going to suffer from lack of variety of weapons to unlock.

It definitely looks nice and I hope they don't nerf the visceral, violent look and feel of the game. So much nonsense about being revolted at "violent video games" in the lamestream gaming press, every game needs to be "bejeweled".

EA has made a few stinkers these past few years, im guessing we are due for another one real soon.

I love battlefield games, but between not even picking up hardline and this looking like a bad remake of the first game we will see. Betas(demos) having helped me with bf3/4 for picking it up, but with hardline it made it a no buy. Oh yea weren't they going to take a year off of BF games or was that another series?
