Next Week's Steam Summer Sale Confirmed?

In apparent disregard for secrecy, PayPal UK tweets an apparent confirmation of recently leaked alleged dates for the Steam Summer Sale 2016, saying, "It’s official: the @Steam_games sale starts 23rd June." This is not unprecedented, as PayPal has previously leaked the dates of the 2014 autumn sale and the 2015 winter sale. Thanks VG247.

It really depends on what number they are pulling from howlongtobeat.com. Games like Clicker Heroes/Time Clickers, Kerbal Space Program, Football Manager, Space Engineers have hundreds of hours in their entries depending on the category. Harvest Moon says 2000 hours(?!) to completion...

He still must have an absurd amount of games, but apparently also all of the long ones :p

To be fair, a lot of the nigh 1000 games I have come from many, many bundles that I have bought over the years where it was cheaper to just buy the bundle to get the one game that I wanted instead of buying the game itself. So there are games I'm probably not even going to play.
Now we donce.

Feels like every sale I tell myself nope, don't waste your money, you already have enough games. But somehow I'll end up with a big pile of new stuff I'll never even remember to install.

Hmm, I assume that steamleft thing counts "idle master" time as actual playing. So it's probably even worse than...

I'm probably going to pick up a bunch of VR titles during the Steam sale.

Once I thought that I already owned all the games... and now here's a whole new market.

I blame Humble Bundle... sooo many of my games come from them.

I usually compare prices between Kinguin, G2A, cdkeys and Greenmangaming with their constant 20-25% coupons.
So far cdkeys got most of my business. Especially on preorders, but their prices fluctuate day by day.

It seems the earlier you preorder the better the price is.

The only sucky thing with them is they will not give you the cd key early. You'll get it the day of or the day before the game releases. So in case of pre load you're sol

I don't really even get excited for these anymore. The last couple have been kinda underwhelming, and for the next nine months there's so much coming out that even IF there was a great deal on the few games I'd still like to add, I wouldn't have time to play it for the next year anyway.

/old man forlorn mumbling.

I still get somewhat excited (not like the old days though), even though I usually only buy 2-3 $3-$10 games though. Back when 80-90% actually meant something, I might drop $100 on a Steam Sale.

I guess at the time (~2 weeks ago) it was a good deal, as it was higher everywhere else: Steam ($49.00) and other sites were no less than $34.99.

Hmm, not too shabby, I only purchase games I want to play but it doesn't mean I get around to playing them. Full time job and wife/kids really puts a cramp on your play time.. This ain't 1997-2001 and Young with no responsibilities to play UO and EQ all day.

How is CDKeys? Anyone have any problems with them?
Does that give a Steam key? It doesn't say.
Will the key work in the USA?
I've used their site for multiple games in the past and no problems here.
I got my steam keys and in case of a preorder I've canceled the order and within an hour someone contacted me via e-mail and got my refund right away.
So far so good.
I'm in Canada, so I am sure the keys that work here will work fine in the US.

I've only used them for Steam keys, also without any problems. I've done some searches and it seems like most issues people have with them come from uPlay and Origin keys being revoked. For uPlay keys I've been keeping an eye on DLGamer.us, who is apparently on Ubisoft's approved vendor list. I haven't bought anything from them yet though, mainly because Ubisoft games have been crashtastic for me recently for some reason.

Also, with CDKeys you want to keep up with their Facebook page. As far as I can tell that is the only place they really advertise their daily deals on a regular basis. The "deals" page on their main site does not seem to be updated as often.

The best is when you come across a unplayed game in your Steam library and it turns out to be a real gem. Ghostbusters, Bully, Mirror's Edge, Sleeping Dogs, and Mafia 2 were just a few for me. And you always feel great for getting them on sale too.

Also, Kinguin is my favorite for game keys. I bought about 20 keys from this site and I've never had a problem.
