Dishonored 2 Trailer

Bethesda.net also offers a new E3 2016 trailer from Dishonored 2, showing off Arkane Studios' upcoming assassination sequel. The post is lengthy, covering a number of topics, and includes this outline of the game's new setting:
A New Setting
In Dishonored 2, players will return to the Empire of the Isles, but this time they’ll experience most of the game in a new setting. While Dishonored 2 begins and ends in Dunwall – the bleak industrial city of the first game – most of the action takes place in Karnaca, often referred to as the Jewel of the South. The capital of Serkonos – which is the southernmost island in the Empire – Karnaca is a dazzling Mediterranean-inspired metropolis with distinctly different culture and style.

“Our approach to world creation is layered,” Smith said. “Our art and design teams work together to create a strong sense of place, with a well-realized culture based on the factions living there, the architecture, the economy, climate, plant and animal life, and even the food and songs.”

Karnaca is brought to life with the Void Engine: a custom game engine built to support Arkane’s signature art direction and level design, and create atmospheric and exploration-rich spaces.

If anyone has an even remote interest in Dishonored they should watch this.

Apologies if it was posted here, I saw it somewhere last week but think it was Reddit. I honestly thought this was Dishonored 2 at first. The guy is insane - ducking under sword swings, throwing heads at guards, pushing guards into traps, knocking guards off of cliffs, then jumping onto the falling body and using it to teleport elsewhere...

I loved this game, but was nowhere near this devlish. I also played on the Xbox, and this is clearly m+k. I hope.

Yeah that guy has posted incredible kill videos before. I do think he cheats though, because he goes through roughly 17billion mana in the space of two minutes, and his explanation of "I drank a lot of potions" doesn't add up. There aren't enough potions in the entire game to do all that.

But that doesn't make it any less amazing.

I'm sort of a sucker for Steampunk RPGs and really liked the way the original game came out of no where. It may have not been perfect but was a really creative and a good new IP, that took most of us by surprise.

My biggest problem with it was the buff system items you found randomly. So you could/did find find things completely opposite of your build. Instead of letting us use them as a currency to buy minor buffs, the way we did skills. So often times the ones we found were just useless. The only way around it, unless console commands were finally released, was to restart the level. Then run to the location of the first, 2 or 3 in a level you could get to easily. Of course this was a huge pain, even more so for Stealth nonviolent. Since you didn't want to alert and kill everything, just trying to get to minor buff.

I liked the first one enough to purchase the DLC.

Dishonored was cool however not really up there with Thief and best Looking Glass games. Somehow got a feeling this will be more of the same - not necessarily a bad thing, but not the true greatness either.

I wouldn't say I didn't like it, but it didn't do anything for me either, just meh. I'd pick this up in the bargain bin but that's as far as I go with this property. I did like the steampunkishy flavour of the world for it however.

I never played much of the 1st one. There is a part where you have to break into a prison, and you have the option of torturing a guy in a really awesome scene. But I never would have come across it if I didn't do some googling. Granted I may be older but it would have been nice to get some sorta hint about being able to do that, and question is did I miss out on some other really awesome scene?

I tend to play through a game like I like, and then if I really enjoyed it, go back and look for secrets like that...

I'm not positive I remember the scene you mention. The one I'm thinking of, I thought it was part of the main story? But it's been a few years now...

Can't wait to dive back into this one. The city very much looks the same (grimy, used) in an awesome way...they specifically mentioned a goal of more verticality in the demo, and that's always welcome.
