Battlefield 1 Trailer

EA also now offers the promised gameplay reveal trailer from Battlefield 1. This shows off the vintage brutal warfare from the upcoming military shooter, though this does still seem to be mostly cinematics. Here's the description: "Watch the official Battlefield 1 gameplay trailer and discover war on an epic scale, with 64-players engaging in some of the largest multiplayer battles in FPS history. Experience the Dawn of All-Out War, Only in Battlefield 1." There's also a post on the topic on the Battlefield website:
If you watched the trailers for Battlefield 1 (and if you're reading this, there’s a good chance you have) you likely noticed a variety of locations at the dawn of all-out war. Deserts. Forests. Crumbling cities. Battlefield 1 will bring you to new and exciting locations and let you take part in some of the largest battles in FPS history.

Want to take a peek at some more info on what those maps entail and – more importantly – what you'll be doing once you play them? Two new pages have been added to Battlefield.com that should help you out. There's a Maps page , which includes four of the maps that will come with Battlefield 1, as well as a Modes page, complete with insight into three modes.

These, obviously, aren't the extent of what's going to be available. They're just a taste, and we'll update these pages as we approach the October 21 release (or October 18 if you pre-order the Early Enlister Edition). We can’t wait to tell you more.

So if I'm understanding this correctly to play the game "first" I must:

Own an Xbox one, Pre-order a special version, and belong to the EA Access club.

These guys get shadyer and shadyer with each release. I watched the trailer above, I'd say about 20 seconds was actual gameplay, the rest is cutscenes or, "IN GAME FOOTAGE!!!" as they brag.

WTF

So Kevin Spacey is in the tank?
It looks good, if Michael Bay directed a WWI movie. And did I finally see the HD Red Dead Redemption game I've been begging for since I got rid of my 360?

But watching the attack on that Zeppelin makes me want 2143 and Titan mode so much more.

E3 trailer shot in a bullshot filter OMG STOP THE PRESS.

Looks fairly impressive, at least kudos for trying some new conflict era. But gameplay is probably MP on steroids and I want SP that has advanced AI and open area warfare. So there`s that.

The gameplay from the 64 player event looked really good IMO. And the shots of the airship burning and crashing in the distance were friggin beautiful!

So, no PC port?

They have it up on the Origin store.

I'm definitely interested, but I hate the way EA has started forcing players to update their graphics drivers in order to play their games. I've been using one of nVidia's that came out over a year ago, it still works fine, and I don't see the need to update to a driver that has issues...

Looks pretty awesome, but so does every Battlefield trailer. Hopefully the game isn't a buggy mess for a year after release.

I'm still interested, BF games usually end up very enjoyable... eventually.

I don't think it's bad that they Bay-up WW1. It was a pretty much a slog for much of the war in reality. And I appreciate that they have gone out of their way to use real weapons and tactics instead of creating some alternate history. Lastly, kudos for approaching a conflict that almost no one else has done.

While I would love a new BF 2143 game, we've had a lot of these near future games lately or soon to ship, so the WW1 setting is definitely refreshing. And it ties in nicely with all the WW1 memorials that have been commemorating the 100 year anniversary of the conflict. I wonder when they'll do the Korean conflict? There was such a unique blend of technology there.

Lastly, anyone with a boring commute or looking for something to listen to while jogging should check out Dan Carlin's five or six part podcast series covering The Great War, called Blueprint for Armageddon. Fantastic stuff. Here's part 1.

No, Origin has the game with the same release date of October 18th for PC. The video does imply that though. Is possible the beta test may be xbox only, but I've never heard of a xbox beta, I'm not sure Microsoft would allow it.

I second that, HH podcast is fantastic.
WWI and Khans got me so stoked for games in that periods as nothing else. Sadly not many good WWI games around.

I will be keeping my eye on this one. Should be nice to see some variety in the Battlefield setting.

I am pretty sure more aircraft were in that trailer than in all of WWI, but I don't think anyone was buying Battlefield games for the realism anyway.

There are few games that don't involve murder, death, war, etc. Part of the attraction is to experience something we'd never live through otherwise.
