Kerbal Space Program Lead Developer Leaves

Gamasutra reports that Felipe Falanghe has stepped down as lead developer for Kerbal Space Program, though the forum post where they say this was announced is unavailable (the forums seem to be offline at this moment). They say he talks about how much the game has grown past his original vision, and that development will now continue on without him. They offer one direct quote from the post: "There was a fine line we needed to stay on, lest we let the project slip and become something other than what we intended," Falanghe wrote. "That is no longer the case, and that's a very good thing. It means that conceptually, the game is complete."

That sounds a lot more reasonable and a lot less dire. He can throw a medium party.

The devs might be okay but the parent company sounds like typical bunch of PR scumbags:

The barn is a good example on why I gave up on this entire industry.. I am 3d modeler, I can texture, but only buildings/objects... I can barely make my own textures but when I do it increases the costs 10 fold (yes, 10 times!), the more realistic the worse it gets for me, as every single surface I need in high detail basically requires me to set aside an entire work process just for that surface, and make sure that all surfaces with that texture actually fit my planned tiling... it's agonizing nightmare.

And then you get noobs talking to you over skype asking "why is that face there? I had my nephew remove it" kinda stuff. RAGE IN THE MACHINE

Doesn't the company behind KSP practically use slave labor? If so, guy should be throwing a very small party.

A bit of an exaggeration. They pay more than what a marketing company is Mexico would pay. They don't pay what a software developer would pay given the profit they are making. They also have a lot of volunteer help from the community.

The last patch (which was a year in coming) seriously fucked with key features. Landing gear is basically broken, rendering it nigh impossible to TAKE OFF with basic planes (to say nothing of landing), and SAS targeting is broken and will drain power 100x faster than it's supposed to, and that's if it doesn't shake your ship to fucking pieces.
