We had a little outage in the wee hours, apologies for that. And hats off to
Frans for getting things straightened out immediately, in spite of the odd hour.
The issue last night illustrates how well he has things running since our last
hardware and programming fixes, as while we had a software crash, the server
uptime is currently at 481 days and counting.
This is the Memorial Day weekend here in the U.S., a somber celebration, as contradictory as that sounds. Here's hoping those of you with plans stay safe and dry, and that all of us can find the time to reflect on the significance of the occasion.

That WWII gunner story is pretty heartwrenching.
Sadly, their generation is soon to pass, there's not many WWII veterans left alive nowadays. 5 years ago the last combat veteran of WWI died and soon there will be no WWII veterans either.
100 years ago the battle of Verdun was coming to an end and the battle of Somme was about to begin. It's a shame not many people know about WWI since that event, more than any other event in modern history, helped shape the world into what it is today, for all the bad and the good.
