Oculus oversells its preorders and can't adequately deliver, and they're the devil.

NVIDIA cuts off its preorders to make sure that doesn't happen, and they're the devil.

LOL, nice observation.

Uh, "seeing them in action". You mean all the benchmarks and reviews that are already out, and tell you a lot more than any individual owner is going to tell you about the performance increase? Your post is short, but your contempt for these cards is clear. So either you're dead set on AMD, or you're broke.

I'm more interested in the overclocked ones that secondary manufacturers are going to make. They'll be cheaper, or at worst, the same price as the FE cards, and if the benchmark testers really got "average" chips, the overclocks will be...significant.

You may be confusing digital preorders with preorders of physical hardware. With digital media, infinite copies can be made basically instantly. Obviously with physical hardware this isn't the case. The initial run will have been quantified, so there's a limited amount they are committing to. That's what sold out. Of course they'll do another run, and more will be made available, but perhaps they weren't expecting such an overwhelming response and didn't prep enough for the initial output.

Think I'll wait for Asus Strix or similar card. The reference cards are apparently very loud once the fan cranks up, which has been the norm for these cards forever. My Strix 970 is probably the quietest thing on my PC.

I have 2 Strix 970s now. Sooooo quiet, I love it. Looking forward to getting a Strix 1070.

Maybe you would have liked to be on the Occulus Rife pre-order list instead?

Hoping EVGA releases their not-limited-edition ones before June 7th. That's when my step-up period from my GTX 980 Ti ends, ha.

My AMD 285 is pretty good for most games at 1080p, but I want to upgrade to a good 2k 144Hz monitor. Hoping a 1070 fits the bill. Like y'all I'm in no hurry, waiting for some good 3rd party boards and the masses to sort out if there's any chicanery like with the 970s.
