A new animated short
called "Dragons" from Overwatch offers more background on Blizzard's
upcoming multiplayer first-person shooter. Today's clip explores the sibling
rivalry between Hanzo and Genji, as I think we all know which one mom always
liked best. Word is: "'Dragons' explores the history of conflict between the
scions of the Shimada clan: Hanzo and Genji. In this episode, we follow Hanzo as
he returns to the siblings’ family home in Hanamura to seek redemption . . . and
confront the ghosts of the past." Overwatch will launch on May 24th, though
reports say the game may be in stores a day before the servers go live.

What? Are you tripping? Have you played Dune (or Dune2)? Have you played Warcraft 1 or 2? Warcraft 1 and 2 were fantastic because they improved on the gameplay of RTS games in general, not because they copied something or other. They sure as hell didn't copy Dune or DuneII. The tongue in cheek humor helped too.

everything blizzard has ever made was a copy of something contemporary and popular. they didn't just copy lord of the rings, they copied things you could go into a store and buy. but overwatch is still wicked good!

Overwatch is pretty much the most polished MP FPS I've seen in a long while. You and others might not enjoy the gameplay and that's fine of course. But it's a solid, well-made, good game... especially in relation to the other MP FPS stuff out there, at their launches.
Nobody is doubting their polish, but that's about the only thing Blizzard ever brings to the table these days.
Copy what's already out there, dumb it down, polish, add blizzard logo, polish some more, profit.

And "original" isn't always synonymous with "good."

Other than just the very base gameplay of TF2, what is it copying?
Name a more unique MP FPS. It's not easy to do considering most are at least 3 or 5 sequels in.

I found this video online because I felt that this was the case. Players playing Hanzo were either always extremely skilled, or there was something about the class. Now we know xP Hope they've fixed this before release... :\

I would agree with that. I feel like lately Blizzard has let a bit of the initial quality slip, but they still were refining games well after release and getting the quality there. From what I have played of Overwatch, it has that from the get-go.
With the release so soon I hope they plan to continue with these character videos.

Sounds like Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa as the narrator, Hiroyuki Sanada as the bow guy, possibly.
Every CGI clip I've seen from this game is outstanding. Too bad (for me at least) that I didn't end up liking the game too much.
That's totes Cary. Hus voice is unmistakable. He's just one of those actors everyone loves. I think my fave role for him was in Rising Sun as Eddie, "Oh no, Connor-san, I'm very much how you say...meat and potatoes man." It's weird watching him in The Man in the High Tower because he's so much older now.
But yeah, Blizzard is still king of the CGI trailer regardless of anything else.
