Out of the Blue

I'm getting to the breaking point with the weather around here, as there's still more wet snow in the forecast for this weekend, which may interfere with my opening day plans for Manstovia. I have never managed to work out a proper shelter for my outdoor cooking operation, so precipitation puts a damper on things, but I'm getting near a breaking point for me to get in my first round of primitive cooking since last fall that I will probably be out there lighting a fire even if there's a blizzard.

I wish they would rethink the way they're titling these anthology movies. You typed it the same way I do. And I'm always initially confused when I'm looking for it in a list or auto complete isn't finishing it etc... because the actual name is fucking Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Terrible.

You could call it Star Wars: Rogue One... It doesn't have an Episode Roman Numeral title, that's enough to distinguish it from the regular narrative series.

Maybe the reason they're doing that is because JJ Abrams got rid of the "Episode VII" from the title of TFA like he got rid of the colons from the Star Trek films. Referring to Star Trek he said something like "I don't like colons in my film names." I can see how, without the episode number, someone might be confused with:

Star Wars The Force Awakens
Star Wars Rogue One

If you're going to be cooking in freezing or sub-freezing conditions, you really ought to consider a rocket stove.

And if you form a group of other rocket stove owners you can call this group Rocket League. Okay... I'll keep my day job.

Some cold weather BBQ tips:
If around -20c(-4f) your regulator doesn't work so well since your gas(if used) is too dense and even at high setting produces a low cold flame.

Your hot spots are now your normal spots.

Depending on wind, each time you open the lid you drop your temp pretty hard so do so with reserve.

First time? cook something hard to screw up

Definitely they should sue for the replacement of the tree and associated costs of first responders.

There should seriously be a law that lets you hit people with sticks when they drive like these douche nuggets.

Walker wasn't driving.

The next thing they're gonna start doing is blaming guns for killing people. Oh wait...

I've been tempted to purchase a piece of land in the middle of nowhere but the cold weather and snow would just make me want to die. When I was in Europe the weather was constantly bad. No matter how busy I kept myself, I felt like the world was collapsing. Bad weather is psychologically crushing. Whoever finds a way to control the weather or build dome cities will make for the most drastic quality of life change in human history. Meanwhile, I'll just continue to complain about tourists.

Bad weather is simply a matter of perspective. I love the fall, and I love winter right up until Xmas. After that I'm done with it and want the heat and sunshine again. I've never lived anywhere where it's been significantly hot and sunny all year round but I'd imagine that can become a grind too a change is nice.

The only place I ever found it to be a real problem was when I lived in Vancouver. It's really like 6 months of cold rain. It's pretty insane. When the sun actually came out it was like mana from heaven.

I dunno, I'm torn. I hate the cold and winter on the whole and love heat and sun, but I do like the changing seasons at least summer going into fall then winter. Right now this last polar vortex BS is pissing me off too as I'm so ready for sun and heat right now it's not funny. I'm building some raised garden beds and possibly a greenhouse this year and I just want to get on with it.

Anyone else plunk down for a Model 3? I sat out the early Teslas but we need something new in the next few years and we were both kinda bored with our cars after a lifetime of A to B stuff. Anyways should be interesting if nothing else.
