Tom Clancy's The Division Roadmap

Ubisoft unveils plans for the first year of post-release support for Tom Clancy's The Division, laying out a roadmap to follow next week's launch of the multiplayer shooter with a catalog of free and paid-for content. This trailer illustrates the news, and here's the plan:
Today, Ubisoft® revealed the post-release plans for Tom Clancy’s the Division™. This evolving online open world RPG will keep players engaged with on-going content that will build on the experience within the game long after release.

Following launch, players will be able to take on new tasks and challenges within the main storyline and end-game through daily and weekly missions as well as Dark Zone events. In addition to these ongoing activities, two free updates will be available to all players, adding new features and most-wanted functionalities:

  • Incursions: In April, the first free update will introduce the first incursion, a new challenging end-game activity developed specifically for squad play. Teams will be able to test their skills as they face seemingly unstoppable enemies to gain high-level weapons and equipment. This update will also add one of the community’s most-wanted feature, loot trading; allowing players in the same group to trade loot collected during a co-op game session.
  • Conflict: In May, the second free update will add new features to the Dark Zone and add a new incursion in the iconic Columbus Circle.

Three paid expansions will also be released over the course of the year and be available in the Season Pass, Gold Edition and Collector’s Edition of the game. Each expansion builds on The Division, continuing the player’s journey and progress with new content, gear and gameplay:

  • Expansion I: Underground
Available in June, this first major expansion lets players explore the uncharted underworld of New York City. Players will chase deadly enemies with up to three other Agents through an endless maze of tunnels and subways.
  • Expansion II: Survival
Available this summer, this expansion will challenge players to survive as long as possible by gathering essential supplies in a very hostile environment.
  • Expansion III: Last Stand
Next winter, a new threat rises as players and their squad must prepare to defend against a relentless foe.

Tom Clancy’s the Division will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on March 8.

So their plan is to charge premium $ for the main game, premium $ for expansion 1, ....

So my plan is to get the discounted GOTY edition.

Not arguing on whether the game's good or not (I don't know, I haven't played it), but to me this reads like:

Incursions: Horde mode.
Conflict: New Horde mode.
Expansion 1: sounds cool.
Expansion 2: Horde mode.
Expansion 3: Horde mode.

...?

No it's not, not even close.

Alarm bells should be going for anyone pre-ordering The Division ... no proper reviews prior to launch ... Oo
Surely people could only review the PVE part of the game what with the servers being empty of players before release, rendering the DZ a barren wasteland. I can quite understand them not allowing reviewers in before the game is out.

I would be far more worried if I hadn't played both closed and open beta and had a huge amount of fun in both the PVE and DZ parts of the game. I don't need a review and have pre-ordered 'cos I, personally, can't wait to play it!

If I hadn't played the beta, I wouldn't have pre-ordered.
No more blind pre-ordering for me!

I think you mean darkzone, darkzone, darkzone.

Also I learned that you'll be able to build a currency converter in your main base to convert PvE money into darkzone money, so i guess if you just like grinding PvE then you can still buy good weapons in the DZ.

I'd rather be a sneaky ninja in the DZ, lureing unsuspecting noobs into my web of lies and deceit, playing friendly, then stabbing them all in the back and stealing their shit.

Oh, to hear the cries and lamentations that i heard in the beta again... it filled my soul. So much wailing and gnashing of teeth.

LMAO, thanks. You brought tears to my eyes but from laughter.

I wanted to get it on the PC but waiting to hear about the hacks and need to see just how bad it is. Please, let us know. If its not too bad I may pick it up for the PC.

Why do I need reviews when I played the beta and enjoyed it? I think I got a good 10 - 15 hours out of the beta, so no worries here about what to expect.

Another game where I'll wait a year until it's finished and then pick it up for <£10 ...

Sticking to my new years resolution of not supporting the shitty DLC model. I never had a problem with proper expansions, but the pre-pay on sub-standard DLC model that is so prevalent now is just destroying gaming for me.

Why anyone pre-orders games and pre-pays for season passes makes no sense at all these days ... way too many developers following the Peter Molyneux model of promising everything and delivering nothing but charging AAA prices to find out.

Alarm bells should be going for anyone pre-ordering The Division ... no proper reviews prior to launch ... Oo
