American Truck Simulator Demo

Steam now offers a playable demo for American Truck Simulator, allowing the chance to get behind the wheel of a big rig in SCS Software's transport sim sequel. Here's word on what this includes:
If you are still unsure whether to take the risk and buy the game for fear of technical incompatibility, we are happy to announce the availability of a free American Truck Simulator demo. Try it out to make sure the game will work on your computer before making the purchase decision. You can grab it from Steam now, just as the game itself.

The demo is limited by the number of jobs taken and only contains the state of California, but technically it's identical with the game itself. If you purchase the game after playing the demo, you can continue driving where you have left off, as the save game stored in the demo mode is compatible with the full game.

California and Nevada only. Arizona will be released as a free update soon.

Here's what the Online component should look like.

Definitely going to try out this demo. The only thing holding me back is scale concerns... I guess I'm just weird that I'd like a long route to take more than 10 minutes.

The route from Eureka to Sacramento takes about 30 real minutes. The route from Redding to L.A. is about 40 minutes. So the routes are long but not real-time long.

If it was Real Time long you'd seriously be doing basically Desert Bus levels of boredom.

No it's US only, so you obviously need to be well armed before heading out on the road. Seeing as that's missing from the game it really breaks the immersion.

No. But you can deliver toxic waste from Sacramento to San Diego in 30 minutes! Race

I like the demos where you can buy the full game and then just keep on playing.

What for? With only 2 trucks available, the demo is like, what...50% of the game right there?

As someone who lives in California I love this game! The graphics are awesome. The gameplay is cool. I will say that by no means is it accurate. LA is like maybe 4-5 blocks. Sacramento is 2-3 blocks. But there are famous landmarks like Golden Gate Bridge. I do wish ATS had other locations like Yosemite.

ETS2 was the same, your demo progress carried over to the full game. Pretty awesome.
The amount of mods out for this already is just insane
