Hitman Beta FAQ on
the official Hitman website has details on beta testing of the upcoming
assassination game, which launches this week for PlayStation 4 and next week for
PC. They include a beta
launch trailer to show this off, and they offer the following explanation of
what's included and how to participate:
WHAT’S INCLUDED IN THE BETA?
The HITMAN Prologue. That’s the very beginning of the game, set at a top secret recruitment and training facility. The Prologue revolves around how Agent 47 joined the ICA and shows the first time that 47 meets his long-time handler, Diana Burnwood.
The Prologue contains an introduction to the gameplay features and mechanics in HITMAN, and two free-form training hits. You’ll be able to replay each hit as many times as you wish throughout the beta period to complete the challenges and the multiple ways to take down your target – as you would expect.
HOW DO I GET ACCESS?
The only way to guarantee your access to the HITMAN Beta is to pre-order the game digitally on PlayStation 4 via PSN or PC via Steam. Alternatively, you can pre-order the Collector’s Edition.
Access to the HITMAN Beta is available for the pre-orders of the Full Experience, Intro Pack and Collector’s Edition.

Episodic just means I will likely wait until they are finished with all the episodes. Which also means it will probably be on sale too.

If you paid attention to the details, you'd realize that the beta is only going to be on PC and PS4, not Xbox. That's why there's no mention of Xbox for this Hitman Beta trailer.
On a side note, not sure why this game is getting so much hate. From what I played of the closed alpha, this is way more like Blood Money than Absolution. Large, open-ended, non-linear levels with many ways to dispatch targets. The disguise system has been revamped as well so it's way more effective than the one in Absolution. IO has very clearly taken player feedback to heart.
I guess people are freaking out about the episodic format? Seems like it should work fine for a Hitman game. The series has never been about story and the levels in the Blood Money were very standalone. If Blood Money were split up into episodes, it wouldn't have been any worse for it.

While this game looks worse all the time I'd be willing to give the beta a go. But forget paying for the privilege.

I am one of the 5 people who actually enjoyed the last Hitman game.
I won't preorder this one just so I can play the beta, but I will keep an eye on the game ones it's out and will check some reviews.
Probably going to grab it. I like this series.
