What the heck? Why would you release a trailer for a cell-shaded game running at 24fps?

I agree, but Devastation visually nailed the cartoon, but had no desire to play it after watching some gameplay videos.

Tragically the gameplay isn't deep enough, it's basically a really cut down version of bayonetta's combat system dressed up with transformers graphics.

Overall the levels were too uninspired and many design decisions were pretty bizarre to say the least. The story just had to be the worst, Fall of cybertron did an amazing job at world building... and making the game feel like a loving homage to the cartoon. Devastation has none of that love tragically.

Sorta surprised they didn't give it the Cartoon look like the last Transformers game, but pleasantly surprised/glad they didn't.

The transformers game that copied the 80's cell shaded style jarred with the conventional game background to a huge extent.

The first two transformers games, war for cybertron and fall of cybertron were overall superior. Fall of cybertron being the best.

You can watch the series online there.

Where is the talking brain dude and his "death star" subterranean super base drill? The banter between that guy and Shredder were some of the best parts of the cartoons when I was a kid. That and Rocksteady and Beepbop of course.
I have a nifty blue line!

After playing Transformers Devastation I am confident that this will both nail the look of the cartoon and graphic novels of the time. Additionally it will have some depth to the combat system.

Yes, Platinum Games seem to be competent at handling franchises and turning them into games worth of the original content.

I'd like to see the turtles in an isometric arpg type game with party management along with the mutanimals or creating your own mutagen creature. Or maybe something even more old school like Wizardry 8 with voiced party banter.

I haven't read the recent comics so maybe the problem lies there, but I don't like how the turtle's designs in these recent games seem to have taken inspiration from Micheal Bay's movies.

From that video, it was a little hard to tell exactly how the gameplay works. Is it gauntlet/Diablo style? And man, if this has local coop, instant buy. My kids love ninja turtles.

Did I see them pull off a co-op combo movie at about 1m? Pretty sweet.

I think this game looks like it could be a blast. Ignoring all the garbage of recent years for a cell-shaded retro late-80's Turtles setup. The art style isn't my cup of tea but if the co-op is solid and the combat is as tight and fun as this looks, I'm in.

How to make a good Turtles game.

Step 1) Look up Turtles in Time
Step 2) Do that

Or at least I wish it was that easy. Even a remake of that excellent game turned out bad.

I don't care for the cartoony look, but the gameplay looks like it could be good fun.

Well considering most TMNT games have their origin in the cartoons. The popular heights of which were the TMNT arcade games during the 90's. No one should be surprised at the cell shading really.

Still wish they would do a proper Eastman and Laird TMNT.
