Yeah... still zero interest in playing seasons, Blizzard. Forcing stash unlocks into seasonal play is really a scumbag move.

You can't always get what you want. They relented on seasonal legendaries, so new items aren't exclusive to that mode for a few months anymore, but that's not good enough for you? They want to still have something of an incentive for people to participate, that sounds plenty reasonable to me, no use getting your panties in a twist over it.

Anyway, I'm enjoying the melee DH. By the time you hit 70 it's only another hour or so until you have your completed free set, so you can get in and rolling with your class of choice really quickly. I believe you only get one set though, per account, not per character. They mail you these reward bags and whatever class opens them determines what's inside.

Worse than that, the things you need to get done are not trivial. Probably beyond less committed players.

The original beta? I think there's a fairly large consensus the game was significantly better after the expansion.

Post game is amazingly fun. The 10 hours it takes to bring a new character there? Not so fun.

Isn't that the same like Diablo 1 and 2? Gear lock? Like no trade, dumping, etc.?

You can trade most things, but for legendaries you find, it is only for a limited time with the people who were in your group at the time it dropped. It's a compromise, allowing friends to trade loot without opening it up to black market exploitation.

It used to be around 10 hours, but doing adventure mode (bounties and rifts) it is around 3-4 hours now. Plus, if you do bounties you are really farming the drops you need to use the cube properly, so it isn't wasted grind like it used to be.

If you have a friend, they can boost you from 0-70 in around 30 minutes doing T6 rifts.

To be fair, the majority of people playing seasons will not get the unlock. It is hidden behind the Season Journey, which will need people to:

-Kill Diablo & Greed on T10
-Reach GR50 solo
-Finish a T9+ rift in under 4 minutes
-Level 3 legendary gems to rank 50
-Complete 2 Conquests

For reference, the conquests for Season 5 are:

-Clear Act I-V Campaign in an hour
-Achieve a 50mil gold streak
-Clear GR45 no set items (upgraded from no "class" sets last season)
-Master 8 set dungeons
-Clear GR55 with 6 different class sets

Plus, it is 1 tab per seasons. Each season lasts for 3 months. To get the full 10 tabs, you will HAVE to play every season for 1 year straight!

Yes, this is the part that really annoyed me... even if I was interested in seasons, it would take basically a year of serious grinding + character wipes to get the tabs that China and consoles already have. If there isn't some major technical issue preventing Blizzard from giving all the stash tabs for just a gold price, it really seems like the worst possible way they could have handled this.

Sheesh. No seasonal play for me in protest, of course. To be fair I'm pretty D3'd out anyway, don't see myself playing a ton this patch. Everybody else I knew has already quit D3 for other games as it is.

It's been said on the D3 forums a million times already, but Non-Seasonal will need the stash tabs more than Seasonal anyway. Completely ass backward way to do this, even if Blizzard felt it was necessary to force people to complete achievements to unlock stash space instead of just paying gold.

Absolutely! I've played the game from 1-70 with all classes, WTF would I want to do it again FFS!

Seasons have never held any attraction to me and this scumbag move to try and force me to play them is putting me right off playing the game again.

Bad, bad move Blizztard!

Well, the seasons are considered to be "end game" content, so it was never really for less committed players to begin with.

I have several colleagues who play the crap out of seasons, and they are always massively excited when a new one starts. I personally don't get it, though I get a chuckle out of how ludicrously overpowered the builds are becoming.

I hated Diablo III when it first came out as much as the next guy... but I totally don't get all the hate here for the current game.

A. The game today is nothing at all like the AH garbage that launched. With RoS the game is amazing. The story was fun instead of a chore.
B. They just added all the new Legendaries without needing to do the season at all... and now you are whining that they still have content to be unlocked for the people playing the seasonal characters. ??
C. I don't disagree that 5 tabs is very limiting... not sure it is worth the hate though. Seasons are nice since everyone is starting fresh and you don't have to worry about some pimped out level 1200 paragon dude invading your game, or whining that you are only paragon 300 (at least for the first couple weeks).

Avoiding season 5 only because I did all there was to do in Season 4 and am taking a break for a bit. But if you have never tried a season journey, it was loads of fun...

I honestly only touched the story season 4 when I self twinked another Monk to 70 just for fun so I could have two equipment/skill chars without swapping everything for single player vs group. (Took like 40 minutes to get to level 70 with a few gem's of ease for healing armor and ancient set weapons, stayed in like Torment 6 for most of that until I first got killed around level 67 or so! I think I was level 63 or so before the lagging notifications of new skill slots and skills stopped.)

Well, Alpaca San, opinions will differ of course, but I don't really consider stash space as something that should be "unlockable content." It's more of a basic requirement for an item farming game, that is currently being used as a reason to force people to play Seasons.

Few people will disagree that the game is better now than during the vanilla AH days, but none of that absolves Blizzard of their pointless punishment of Non-Seasonal players by gating the stash space, of all things, behind the Seasonal wall.

I'd prefer to wait for a few legendaries than to have no way at ALL to get the stash space(currently), without playing seasons.

If Blizzard is dead set on achievements for stash space, then they should have just added some requirements in non-season for people to do.

Hopefully enough people are pissed off, yet don't give in to the coercion, so Blizzard relents and adds the extra tabs to Non-Seasonal play.
