Out of the Blue

My talk yesterday of winter boots seems to have inspired old man winter, as we have our first real snow of the season this morning. Real is relative, as the accumulation isn't much more than an inch, but this has been such a warm, dry winter it seems like a blizzard. That said, I'm not sure that I'll even have to shovel this, I think it will probably melt off on its own before I get around to it.

Oddly, they were all 69 years-old. So was Riley Martin, Howard Stern's late alien expert. Weird.

69 is the new 27 then?

Death seems to come in threes. This year we had Lemmy and Bowie for musicians and for actors we had Rickman and Brian Bedford. We have one more to go in each category.

I will submit that Ben Stiller and Niki Manaj be sacrificed.

I believe Lemmy was 70, but only barely just.

I think the first thing I saw Alan Rickman in was Die Hard, then Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, then Rasputin, then the Harry Potter movies. I always liked him as an actor. Damn shame.

BTW Lemmy, David, Alan, it was all cancer.

Not really. Alan Rickman, David Bowie and others died because of cancer. Cancer robs people from living until their 70's, 80's and 90's. The point is be good to yourselves and to each other so you can live a long life.

Indeed. Fuck cancer, fuck this fucking disease. Alan Rickman was one of my favorite actors of all time. Heck, I always thought he would have been the perfect Ankh-Morpork's Vetinari if he had been given the part.
