Out of the Blue

My talk yesterday of winter boots seems to have inspired old man winter, as we have our first real snow of the season this morning. Real is relative, as the accumulation isn't much more than an inch, but this has been such a warm, dry winter it seems like a blizzard. That said, I'm not sure that I'll even have to shovel this, I think it will probably melt off on its own before I get around to it.

But yeah, this sucks. Sadly I'm not as familiar with Bowie as I should be (I know his hit singles though), but Alan Rickman was one of my favorite actors.

Check out Bowie's "Reality", if you're looking to branch out. It's one of his more recent albums, and just about every track is great (some sounding wildly different than others).

Death seems to come in threes. This year we had Lemmy and Bowie for musicians and for actors we had Rickman and Brian Bedford. We have one more to go in each category.

I will submit that Ben Stiller and Niki Manaj be sacrificed.

OK FINE!

I'll throw in PewDiePie as a bonus.....
Now that one I agree with. The other two seem like strange choices, since their best years are behind them (Ben is just old, and Nicki probably doesn't have many years left since the music industry favors younger women with a few exceptions, and she has certainly used her "assets" to her advantage).

But yeah, this sucks. Sadly I'm not as familiar with Bowie as I should be (I know his hit singles though), but Alan Rickman was one of my favorite actors.

The only enjoyable part of Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves was Rickman chewing the scenery. Loved him in Die Hard as well.

loved his approach - at first glance typically british, upper crust snob. but then you see his fiery intelligence, his intense sarcasm, and above all his fearless self-deprecation.

i think his role that i enjoyed the most was as metatron in Dogma.
Beautifully put. He was so watchable in anything he was in.

He was my fav char in the HP movies. I loved the way he sneered "Mister Potter". I even dressed up as him for Halloween one year.

RIP

Shit I forgot he was in that. That's going to hurt the chances of the oft-rumored sequel coming to fruition. Damn.

That's literally the last movie I saw him in, oddly enough. Talented actor but he seemed to mostly end up in films I had no interest in.
Thats almost the exacvt opposite to me, he ended up in movies I liked. You always knew you would get a good performance from him. RIP

Oh, and call off christmas!

Indeed. Fuck cancer, fuck this fucking disease. Alan Rickman was one of my favorite actors of all time. Heck, I always thought he would have been the perfect Ankh-Morpork's Vetinari if he had been given the part.
