Out of the Blue

We finally got our first taste of winter here in the greater New York City area, as overnight sleet and snow rolled in. This has things looking decidedly more Decembery than before, though it's a bit sloppy for anything like sledding or skiing. I guess we'll just consider it an El Niño blizzard.

While strolling along an empty sidewalk, Cutter encounters Henry. "Henry! How's it going man? Long time!" Henry looking perplexed and slightly annoyed, stands back a bit, raises an eyebrow, and bluntly responds, "Who the hell are you?"

A moment of shock! Cutter's face becomes pale and his skin turns clammy and weak. His voice is shaken. He cannot speak. Tears of embarrassment form in his eyes. He experiences a flash of memory. Vividly recalling and re-experiencing (as frequent daydreams) that single, life-changing, conversation in the pub - even though it happened so many years ago. The long time fantasy friendship that followed. The reoccurring rock star dreams and imaginary adventures of bonding. All of it, suddenly shattered, crumbled, and broken. Scattering like ashes into an abyss. Cutter puts his hands in his coat pockets and crouches his head down - wishing this tragic moment never happened. As he continues to stare into the lifeless, cold, and lonely concrete below, he quickly scurries away in humiliation.

Practicing my very amateur writing. Nothing personal against Cutter.

How do they know that guy blew up the condom machine? Maybe he was framed by unstoppable gonorrhea.

most likely a "refugee" who's religious beliefs don't allow contraception.

They blew it up for fun, it was German citizens who did it as well.

Im having a hard time imagining you talking politics with Henry Rollins, unless that talk ended with you getting smacked around a little bit. Maybe you are mellower face to face than you are on these here boards...

So, fuck them and their Canada Post Prime bullshit. I guess they're in the business of burning bridges for new customers so I had them cancel it and will take my business back to directcanada.

thats fucking wack but yeh, theres always a short shelf life on the good scenes...

id drop that shit too if they fucked with me like that

I took your advice, harlock, and got in contact with Amazon about their Prime shipping.

Basically, they put all the blame on the carrier and I can't fault them for that since it's being shipped through Canada fucking Post which is an utter joke built on incompetence. Amazon got the order out fast, as far as processing and packaging, but once it left their warehouse I'm yet again at the mercy of a postal service full of bumbling idiots.

Prime ships through two-day Xpresspost delivery but fuck you we're Canada Post so how does seven or eight days sound?

damn that sucks... seems like they shouldnt be able to just let it slide like that - id have to ask amazon, "whats the point? why should i buy this service if you dont actually follow through on it?"

when dealing with any customer service, thats the lynchpin comment "why should i keep paying you for this?"

if that doesnt get them to do anything, thats when Im like "ok cancel it, give me a refund because thats what you garuantee"

It was a near record 84 degrees on Christmas, now we're hovering around the upper 40s low 50s for daytime temps. One day AC next day had to turn the heat on.

Yeah, saw Motorhead back in the day. Managed to have a beer with the band too. The bar we used to hang out always saw it's share of acts cone through there. We partied with Motorhead, Bad Manners, The Villains, a few of the guys from Def Leppard once, Black Flag - sat drinking beer and talking politics with Henry for an hour which was cool. Lemmy was good lad, funny as hell, nice guy, liked to give'r.

Aww, Joohn Bradbury from The Specials just died too.

Not like they will, but Amazon can put a claim in with Canada Post to have the shipping refunded if it took longer than 2-3 and you're near a major city/urban area.

I'm a big metal fan, but I could never get into Motorhead, I prefer the more melodic bands like Iron Maiden- Moorhead was always too harsh for me. That said, it's undeniable the mark Motorhead left so I have great respect for them.
