Ehhh, I don't think this free weekend accomplished what they hoped it would. I played an hour of the game and am not the slightest bit motivated to boot it back up, much less buy it...

free because its garbage

No, it's not garbage, it's not that bad of a game. There are definitely things they did that annoy the hell out of me, but we have a Coop campaign going now, and it hasn't been that bad of a game. They just released a Drow as a playable race, and they are pretty good.

"But if you want a very, very generic story that's poorly told through bad cutscenes and average dialogue, it's ok I guess."

Besides the cutscenes, it sounds like Diablo review.

How's the single player? I'm fine with it being a semi-ok D&D clone that feels like Diablo. I just have no interest in partying with anyone else.
Well, the single-player is absolutely terrible compared to Dragon Age Origins. But if you want a very, very generic story that's poorly told through bad cutscenes and average dialogue, it's ok I guess. There's just so many better games, both D&D and otherwise.

Offline is fine. You can use 3 AI companions for modules or randomly generated dungeon crawls. This is one of the bad things however because it's so grindy.

Free weekend.

Edit:
Diablo isn't the word to describe this game it isn't an ARPG.

My first 30 minutes feels awful, this feels like a true indy game. As I've been stating many threads now, the bar is higher now in gaming, I'm not really jonesing for anything, so the quality has to be high. I'm not sure this game has a proper gameplay feel to it and then it is pretty bland gfx wise.

It's moving in the right direction but still has a long way to go yet. So play it, but I'd advise against buying it. It may be worth a buy at some point down the line if they deliver everything they've promised. If you're looking for a new NWN, this ain't it. It's more of an ARPG with CRPG-lite elements. So if that's your thang then it'll be right up your alley.
